SWSE Lightsaber Axe
Hello,
One of my players in my SWSE campaign is rolling a jedi and wants a lightsaber axe. I'm inclined to allow it just because he really wants it and I don't think it would be game breaking, however I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it or how it would work within the mechanics?
Same stats as a lightsaber just different construction/design?
Different stats that could affect things such as deflect attempts?
Thanks in advance for the help

Re: SWSE Lightsaber Axe
Depends on why he wants a lightaxe. Is it simply for style? If so, just give it the lightsaber stats and describe it as an axe. If there is a mechanical reason behind it, you'll have to discuss with your player.
I assume he wants something like one of these?

I assume so as well. From our brief discussion about it, it seems like he wants it for the style.

Re: SWSE Lightsaber Axe
Use a lightsaber pike, from the Jedi Academy book. Same damage, 2d8. Just refluff how the blade emitter is attached.
It does have some differences. The haft is assumed to be made of phrik and thus lightsabers do not ignore its DR. It has extra reach of 1, but gives -2 to Block and Deflect attempts. It can be used as a double weapon if the Jedi takes the Long Haft Form feat of the same book.
So, damage stays same, the Jedi gains extra reach, but gets slightly worse at defense.Last edited by Alejandro; 2013-01-03 at 10:29 AM.
