Re: Wombat's Whimsical Wonderland of Random Banter #188 (now with more puns!)
Pleasure. Since I've been in Europe to visit my family, I thought I'd swing by Rome. I have several friends studying at the Pontifical North American College here, and I wanted to visit them. Besides, we seminarians tend to like the things that Rome has to offer.

I prefer LaLa's explanation, because it creates far more awkward images in my mind.
ION: Stayed up 'til 4, woke up at 6:45, went to work at 8, chugged a Rockstar as I inhaled a sandwich around 12:30, left work and went to a workout at 1, got home around 3:30.
I'm basically awake because I won't be sleepy 'til later. And I'm going to a gaming session at 6 or 7 (the game rarely starts before 7... actually, I don't think it ever has).
tl;dr I don't know what I'm doing but I think I'm doing it right.

Re: Wombat's Whimsical Wonderland of Random Banter #188 (now with more puns!)
I usually go for 6 hours, but last night was just kind of... not a good night for me sleeping, really. It happens sometimes; I'll just kind of look at my bed, think "I should sleep", and then realize that's really unappealing and go back to what I was doing. Also, it was more like two and a half hours of sleep :B
And unless you're in New England, you're not in the group. If you are, it's still unlikely but it's possible.

I finally found enough peace of mind to crawl away into a remote corner and read my new Mouse Guard book. And... Well, I think my words are failing me. I once said that the first book is one of my most treasured possessions. I hereby add the second book to the collection as well.

Re: Wombat's Whimsical Wonderland of Random Banter #188 (now with more puns!)
Just finished reading Through a Narrow Gate, t'was fun.
So, it's Thursday. I went to sleep for today 16 hours and 14 minutes ago. I woke up, went to school, and spent the entire first period grinning like a dead person out of total mental meltdown. Second period, which I ended up having abandoned the homework of last night/morning was basically be bablbign about anime to two classmates who turned out to be anime nerds. By lunchtime, I hadn't eaten in sixteen hours. Lunch was spent in the room with the teacher running the "Visit France and Spain over spring break!" group planning the trip, which I'm going on this year. Third period, well...
We finished the movie of MAAN, then listened to him babbling aobut the presentation we will be giving for another half hour. Then he gave us the MAAN test, with one hour to do it. I finished in fifteen, the next kid to complete fifteen minutes after that. I spent the rest of class dodoling away in either backwards cursive, or quoting poems about death with the Discworld Death interjecting at points to complain. Turned in my what ultimately became a seven-page book summary and wandered out the door.
After that, on Thurdays, I take Honours Ancient History, so the next half hour was the teacher and I debating about Machiavelli, details of Aesop fables, and completely alienating the others. Woo.
When I got home, I spent the entire time cleaning up the house for Dad, who was returning from Prague after spending ten extra days with my grandmother there. He brought me so much chocolate.
This is the firs time I've relaxed since I woke up, if you count my fitful five hours of sleep relaxing. And I'm oging to Mock Trial in five minutes.
Also, I've made ymself sick by staying up so lat,e I've got a bad sore thorat.
BUT I ONLY HAVE TWO CLASSES OF HOMEWORK DUE TOMORROW!Spoiler: This signature is a historical relic from a long-ago time of regular forum activity.Aww man! Even all the witty self referencing sigs are gone now!

Re: Wombat's Whimsical Wonderland of Random Banter #188 (now with more puns!)
Where in France/Spain are you going?
What's MAAN?
Alienating people is not as easy as it seems. Also, The Prince is satire (although you probably knew that).
Chocolate is always good.
I commend your work ethic and condemn your lack of proper rest. Especially if you're making yourself sick from it.

Re: Wombat's Whimsical Wonderland of Random Banter #188 (now with more puns!)
Today was a rather interesting day.
I discovered that I DO have Photoshop, but it is an older version, and in an older computer that doesn't have internet access for some strange reason.
So in time, I might make my own avatars in time.

Re: Wombat's Whimsical Wonderland of Random Banter #188 (now with more puns!)
Oh believe me, what I'm going to make is probably the first avatar I ever made.
(I had another artist do my avatar for me. Not exactly what I predicted, but it is still pretty nice)
And so starts the argument of who is worse at making avatars: me or Amidus Drexel (and I'll bet what remains in my bank account that I'm worse. lol)

Re: Wombat's Whimsical Wonderland of Random Banter #188 (now with more puns!)
Oh, I'd take that bet. I'd take it all the way to the bank, because of psychology. You are attempting to draw avatars - this means that you have a desire to draw things, and at least nominal levels of ability. Speedasaurus is NOT attempting to draw avatars, because art either does not interest him, or he is bad enough at it to not even want to try (if it's the latter, he is similar to me in this regard).
As for me, I don't know if you were around when I posted a sample of my handwriting, which is on the same level as my art, so I'll put that picture up again:

Re: Wombat's Whimsical Wonderland of Random Banter #188 (now with more puns!)
That would be one more than me.
I don't take bets unless I know I'm right (I have made some money that way). I'd have to see your art before I took you up on that.
I haven't tried to draw anything (besides stick figures) in about two or three years, and I wasn't very good then. I might give it a shot later, but drawing really isn't something I'm good at. (it's always hands. How the hell do you draw hands right?)
Well, that's not the worst handwriting I've ever read, but it is the second-worst.

Re: Wombat's Whimsical Wonderland of Random Banter #188 (now with more puns!)
I KNOW, RIGHT? HANDS ARE THE WORST.
Fun fact: due to the fact that I don't have to write much by hand now, my handwriting has gotten worse since I took those notes two years ago.
Ironically, yes. I didn't realize that at all before I said I'd take that bet because of psychology, but it dawned on me afterwards.Last edited by Dimonite; 2013-01-10 at 10:50 PM.

Re: Wombat's Whimsical Wonderland of Random Banter #188 (now with more puns!)
Is yours worse than Dimonite's? (I don't really have any frame of reference but that)
Gah, those and feet, too (although feet can be put into shoes or covered up with scenery pretty easily). The next thing I draw will be a person with their hands and feet cut off.
I still doubt it's worse than this one guy I know. At least I could pick out the words "Sigmund Freud" with only a glance at your paper; I have to spend a few minutes/sentence deciphering this guy's handwriting.
As for my handwriting, it's only good when I expect other people to have to read it (or if I have to read it again later). If I can find my physics notes, I'll show you the difference between the two (the words are illegible, the formulas are very neat).Avatar by FinnLassie

Paris to Barcelona, and I think we're passing through some historical Frenchy places. Fontainbleu, and stuff. 10 day trip.
Much Ado About Nothing
Yeah, when I go on a history spiel I alienate people. Also, that's a theory, and one I think is credible, but you can't state it as a definite truth.

I will have to submit examples of my own for reference, then. (Note: the illegible scrawls were written while looking at the board, and not at the paper)

Ah, cool.
...TO GOOGLE!!! Ah, okay. Forgive me for not being familiar with that (as I feel I ought to be).
...I feel like one of us is using alienate in a way I'm not familiar with, and I don't think it's me.
Given the circumstances under which it was written, I highly doubt the book was a work of serious advice. That being said, "any well-done satire is indistinguishable from sincere extremism", and vice-versa.Avatar by FinnLassie
