"Girl have you never been in a fight? Don't heal until after the battle, he just needed to walk it off." The Badger took a deep breath and prepared to wade into bar.

"Yeaahhh you guys go right on in there with yer pink skin and flat teeth. Sure that'll work out swell for ya. Have fun with that!"

The drow groans and rubs his temples, then sits up straight. "Crap! My friends are still inside!"

Inside the bar:

The three orcs pick up their stools and rush Artorias, eager for a fight. One of them, easily works himself into a frenzy. They swing the bar stools at Artorias...

Elsee draws her weapons but otherwise skips her turn, busy trying to convince everyone that doing anything other then going home is a stupid idea.

Artorias twirls his glaive in the air trying to strike the orcs before he is swarmed. Despite his best efforts he is still bit by two of them.

Artorias runs into the bar to see it quickly devolving into complete chaos. He rashes forward and smacks the nearest orc, wielding a barstool, around the knees.

The rest of the tavern quickly follows suit. Two goblins, barely out of adolescence, climb onto the countertop and begin gleefully throwing mugs around at random, shouting, "Yeeaaaahhh!!! Bar fight! Bar fight!

One mug smashes against the wall, but the other whacks a hobgoblin on the back of the head. He stands up, whirls around, and shouts, "WHO DID THAT?!"

Meanwhile, the two drow attack the orc who threw their friend out the window. One tries to punch him in the face, while the other launches an enchantment at the brute.

The first drow leaves the orc with a black eye, and less than a second later the other drow's enchantment takes hold, knocking him out for several minutes.

One goblin, seeing another of his kind aid Artorias, snarls and rushes the group, followed by his two friends.

Jadeite strides in, and is momentarily taken aback by the mad brawl that has engulfed the tavern. Standing by the doorway, just out of range of the orcs and their barstools, he calls out, "Really now, must you be so uncouth? I think you need to learn a lesson, calm down, and sit down."

With his last few words, a thin, sickly-looking ray springs from the elf's hands towards the orcs.

It strikes the biggest, raging orc right in the arms, which sag under the newly noticed weight of the stool. However, he's still able to lift and swing it, albeit with less finesse than before.

Jadeite smiles a little at his spell's success. "Heh."

The bartender, a half-hobgoblin, ducks and hides underneath the counter.

Upon seeing Artorias take the hits that he did, Sora rushes up to him. Keeping an eye on the Orcs, she places a hand on the amulet and reaches out, converting the summon monster level 2 spell.

The Badger ran to the door, Alim and Sora beating her to the entrance. Luckily she could aim above Alim, and she threw her axe and the first orc in her sights.

The hobgoblin who received a mug to the head wordlessly walks over to the goblin who did that and punches him hard in the face. His action is then repeated by both of his friends, though both miss.

Elsee just facepalmed and slumped herself against the outside wall of the bar. shouting out to the Badger as the human ran over to the door.

"That would probably be a lot easier if you quit giving them a reason to attack YOU ya'know!"
She muttered something about the Plavaan being pissed off at the paleskins even BEFORE she walked into the bar under her breath as she played with one of her kurkri in the dirt, trying both to avoid being seen with the city-folk and at the same time listen for any signs of these "total strangers" needing her help.

There's so much shouting and noise of fighting coming from the bar that the goblin is unable to discern anything specific at all.

Rolling between the orcs Artorias whips his glaive getting both of the in a single slas of his weapon.

Edit: "Who's next?" Artorias pants as he assumes another ready stance, everything hurts; but he still readies his weapon.

The raging orc hits the ground hard, barely managing to groan, "Fight good...for flattooth..." before falling unconscious from a combination of alcohol and Artorias' mighty blow.

Let me put it this way: If you were hitting for lethal you would have probably decapitated that orc. So yes, that crit hit. Good thing too, since he'd still be up otherwise! As for damage, which is unnecessary, but always nice to see..

Artorias turns around to see two goblins rushing him, and though one of them only moves to strike with a half-empty mug of beer, the other one has pulled a knife...

The goblin attacking Artorias with the mug only catches empty air, but the goblin with the dagger plunges it deep into the mercenary's side, right where a deep bruise from an orc's barstool is welling up. Much more blood than one would expect from the cut spills out, and Artorias collapses.

The bar goes silent. The two drow try to jump out the broken window where their friend was thrown.

If I'm reading the nonlethal damage rules right, then this is the only "true" damage Artorias has taken. Since his current HP total is now less than the amount of nonlethal damage he's taken, Artorias is unconscious, but still technically in positive hit points.

Elsee's outside the bar, and she can't hear anything specific. But she does hear the bar go suddenly quiet, and a few seconds later sees two drow leap out the broken window, scraping themselves against the broken glass, pick up their semi-conscious friend, and run away.

Inside:

Jadeite's eyes widen as he sees Artorias go down--though he's worked with several bodies in the past, and has participated in friendly mage duels, he's never been in an out-and-out fight like this. Hemlock, coiled around his shoulders hisses as the elf says, "You brought this upon yourself," as he strides over to the goblin that stabbed Artorias and strikes him with two orbs at point-blank range.

Okay, now that this goblin's dealt lethal damage to a character, you're going to officially get in less trouble if you deal lethal damage to him. Though if you actually kill him...Well, I'll leave that for you to decide if it's a good idea or not.

As the Badger saw Artorias fall she sprang into action. "Back off" She drew her bow and shot at the goblin that had attacked her comrade, making sure that her enchantment was still active.
