    Default Mapping the game world

We've been playing the world long enough that I'd like to get it mapped out - does anyone know of a program other than ms paint I can use to do it?

This thread lists some you might be able to use. If you're just looking for image editing software, GIMP is free to download and has more advanced tools than Paint.

Hexographer is free and easy to use. It has a brother, Dungeonographer.

    There's also HexMapper.

If you don't want hexes (although Hexographer, at least, can be used freehand), you'll need Campaign Cartographer 2 or 3 or something, or just learn GIMP or Photoshop.

If you know how to use it properly, GIMP can do wonders, I've found.

If you want detailed info on mapmaking, the Cartographer's Guild (http://www.cartographersguild.com/forum.php) is a useful database of tips and tutorials.

    ^This.
I've been able to make some absolutely beautiful maps of my game worlds by following the step-by-step tutorials in Cartographer's guild. Then the trick is finding a place that will print a large format map without charging several hundred dollars.
