There, the (first?) build of mine is sent via PM.

I'm pretty happy with it. I know it's not quite as optimized as it could be, but I sure as heck would have fun with it (PC or NPC).

Still I am going with the original build.

(no I actually judged em all)

Aww, having nostalgia for older competitions. =(. Wish I could do the Geomancer one again, now knowing a bit more about the game, I'm better at book mining, and can create a bit of a better backstory.

Having just participated in the Geomantic Grappler thread, I've found out the build I could only wish I'd submitted for it. Geomancer is one of my favourite classes ever as well.

Essentially, create an Uber-Grappler Wizard - http://dnd-wiki.org/wiki/Grapplemanc...ptimized_Build), 2 levels only, then take a Druid 8 to get all day long Wild Shape of 8HD, and become a Giant Octopus, and Enlarge Person (you're still Humanoid in Wild Shape).

You then take the Rake (arguable), Poison (Venomfire), Constrict, Trip, and improvers to grappling and Druid fighting.

Feats include optimizing Druid (Natural Spell, Eschew Materials), Qualifying for Geomancer (Versatile Spellcaster), Assassins Stance through Martial Study, etc. Practised Spellcaster for Wizard. Also go for Grapple optimizing.

Wild Shape to Large Giant Octopus, Enlarge Person to Huge, Ley Lines and Practised Spellcaster advance enough so that you can get 8 Colossal Mighty Walloping attacks.

Geomancer nets you Wings, and you can Jet for out of combat 200ft Travel.

Some ways of countering Freedom of Movement as well would help.

i just know i'm going to end up with originality 1/power 1/ elegance 4/use of secret ingredient 4. it's too easy to be good.

VOP prostitutes? while i can certainly see how that would work, on the surface it seems to be a starburst. especially since the BoED says prostitution is evil.

It says a good character won't condone "coercive relationships such as prostitution," but I'm pretty sure it means the person putatively being coerced is the prostitute, not the john. Nothing about that implies that a prostitute can't be good/exalted.

yep. that was not a good round for me. deron got slammed royally for sharing so much with lycus, and matthew did very poorly (though I got some of the most positive comments on backstory I've ever gotten) you still managed to rope in gold. well done.

I hope you don't do what I do, or I'll probably be eating your dust again.

yes, there were two vop prostitutes in ardent dilettante. people spent much of the thread commenting on how unusual it was.

what I'm doing is sort of unusual. I would be very surprised if you happened upon the same strategy. I'm steering clear of your usual staples since you're cooking this time around (to use the iron chef metaphor) I wouldn't want to cook japanese food against morimoto, I'd make some curry or something.

best of luck. if you do use the same spice I do, I'm sure you'll do a better job as you have in the past.

Heh, nearly managed to get all 3 of my builds mixed into one. Each one sacrifices the extreme levels of optimization for the ability to combine it and more variability.

Heehehehe. The trick to getting it all to flow together is how Talon of Tiamat works together in regards to [R E D A C T E D]. Beautiful synergy.

chairman can you please explain how cone breath weapon works?

rules say that it's 30ft in all directions. I can't find a diagram that shows how many squares it affects, and I'm not sure how tall you need to be/what height you need to blast it off at to not waste area.

rules also dictate it's a hemisphere. does that mean it's 30 long and 15 wide/tall? can't consolidate all this info. it will likely be important to our strategies since breath weapons are half this class's class features

Might just be me being daft, but what is the Duration on the Dominate Dragon ability? Dominate Monster is day/level, but there's no listed level. Is it permanent, Character Level, Class Level, or Caster Level gained from other spellcasting classes?
