Hey, I actually played a Talon of Tiamat in a fun campaign a few years ago!

Going off of my rusty memory, Tavar Hoardtale was a terrifyingly unoptimized Bard 6/Talon of Tiamat 6/Half-Fire Elemental LA+4, with a long pointy red 'stache and a diva complex :P

Gah! Off by one itty bitty skill rank, but that one rank is enough to throw the entire rest of the build off. Back to the drawing board.

(By the way, I would be very excited to see Akal Saris start competing again. Just sayin'.)

Ditto on this. Hello Akal! So, what is everyone talking about with you being here? I still need to learn all the peoples here.

Most of a build done, I'm still worried because I'm not having any problems with this.

maybe i missed something, but this particular SI seemed really easy to work with, actually. it was why i started with this one, instead of bladesinger or urban soul (the only two i've watched so far). those two were just bleh. my build is essentially done, except for a little review and tweaking, and i have the seed of an idea for another one.

    Where did you start yours?

The PCs were already a special forces type unit in a kingdom's military, so the campaign started in the general's office.

Beyond the gold medals, Akal Saris is the only contestant to have every single entry place in the top 3. Götterdämmerung has managed to place every contest, but almost always with multiple builds where one places and the other doesn't. Akal Saris has yet to have an entry not place.

Akal's Old Lob build held the record for highest score for years, also. It has since been eclipsed, but only by one-judge contests, where a single high score might have been enough to throw off the figures. Old Lob managed such a high score (4.41 average) with four judges, which is a pretty impressive feat.

Fair point, I'm not sure. Let me revise that to say Akal is the only one to do so who has submitted enough entries to make that notable.

    Heh, I'm blushing here

I'd love to enter this one if I can find the time. Like lunar2 said, this is a terrific PrC because there's so many different things going on with it, and entry is flexible enough that you can have some great variety in entry classes. I have no idea what I'd do with the PrC (though I guess half-fire elemental is right out!)

I'll try and make time for it this weekend. I've really dropped out of character optimization for the past couple of years, so it would be fun to try and flesh something out. Plus, I missed being part of the post-reveal banter

Everyone's raving about all the stuff they're doing with the ingredient, and making me feel uncreative...heh. Apparently Overlord Rion and I will be the only judges. Chances are there will be like 30 entries.

You could always go with Toughness if you can't decide anything else.

On one hand I always feel like others will do better than me, so I know kinda sorta what you're thinking. On the other hand I told myself I'd be going for bronze, so why not actually try? Confidence is important after all.

I found a niche build, but it's just so laughably bad at everything outside its niche. The niche is a fun one, though, so I might just go with it.

Just take Skill Focus: Craft (Basketweaving). Regular basketweaving covers underwater basketweaving as well, by RAW. Why limit yourself?

You dont need to make a backstory. Many people do, but judging rarely gives points for a good backstory. Both of my entries have had no backstory and neither has been penalised. If you use classes/races which dont fluff together and dont give a justification though, you might get a penalty.
