Inkscape Troubles...

I'm having trouble saving files in Ikscape. Note, I am doing this on a Mac, I don't know if that makes a difference. Anyway, I'm a bit confised about how to save my stuff, and the computer says I saved it, but whenever I try to open one the canvas is blank.

Hmmmmm, what are you saving it on? Just on Inkscape or on your desktop or something? I dont think Ive had this problem before, but it took my a long while to get used to the program, so maybe I did. I dont know.
