So. I had the most amazing evening out. I was confined by "Dr. Realist." you know who you are...

....to go out to dinner. At the biggest, most expensive restaurant in town. Wearing my white tux. So, I got myself fully geared up. It was amazingness. White slacks with white and silver belt, a white dress shirt and a white vest, with a white bowtie around my neck. I also wore e matching white coat over the vest, complete with the rose in the chest pocket. I got a little "Taco-ish" and decided to go all Putting on the Ritz.... Wiiiiith my amazing white glittery tophat, white glow in the dark gloves, and a white bejeweled glow in the dark cane.

(You can tell I'm an actor!) Anyway, I made a reservation and everything, so I went out expecting to buy a peanut or two. However, the older Texan man at the table beside me was having dinner with his wife. And at my appearence he spoke to me. He told me "That is the silliest goddamned thing I have seen all month. You look like Taco! I was a fan when I was growing up. Know who he is?"

We talked and then he bought me a full dinner and dessert for in his words being clever and making an old guy laugh.

EPIC WIN.

It sounds appallingly tacky. How delicious.

Although the Brits that insist on pants = underpants as a point of principle are a dying breed. Most Brits I know will say trousers or underpants as necessary to avoid confusion, and will seek clarification if confronted with pants.

Chips is going the same way. We have curly fries and french fries and often just fries. When I dated a Troglander, we banned the word chips. Her chips were crisps, and my chips were fries. Except when my chips were kettle chips, because those are crisps.

I don't exactly lament the converging of English dialects. Some folks do.
