Re: Random Banter #196
I wish you all the best luck with things. *hugs*
You obviously haven't seen me shed hair. It's a lot, honestly, it's been thinning thanks to stress especially for the las two years (I used to have such thick hair... Bah! BAH!). I think the horror of all this also comes from how especially during first semester my hair was very long, and well, blonde sort of stands out from dark furniture and clothes.
If we ever meet, we better have a match or two to see who's the winner in this situation.
... I AM NOT EVEN DOING IT ON PURPOSE *taunt*
It would be a shame if... This blade hit your precious mess of a hair.
Sounds like there have been some stories to be told.
Please, please, don't mind taking some of the biscuits too.
Boring, horrible, same thing.
Well, 30 metres sounds pretty damn steep to me.Originally Posted by LaZodiac

Oh, also! Something cool today! We're having a firepit thing, cooking hotdogs and stuff! And my friend from work, Lindsay, is coming over for a bit for it.

Re: Random Banter #196
Gah, I can't concentrate when I'm listening to Sleep... such good music.
You fool! You'll have Dragonaut stuck in your head for the rest of the day!
Worth it.
Ah, that'll do it, I suppose. I still think you're exaggerating a bit, though.
It will be me.
That makes it all the funnier!
I'll break your scissors.
Oh, god, so many stories... I need to get the group together and go over the stuff they did from the beginning, just so I can write it all down.
Among their "accomplishments" include:
- Getting one player's character's killed several times. He died to: bounty hunters, a dragon, the party, and then twice in the same battle against the BBEG. (note: the first three deaths were all results of poor party decisions)
- Stealing a child and sacrificing it in a pyramid because they couldn't think of any other way to move forward.
- Billing three ressurections to a noble they were stealing from.
- Cursing each other (mostly the bard)
- Several incidents of robbery, including of a bank, and one or two highway robberies.
- Pissing off some inevitables.
- Pissing off a giant, and taking his castle (although they lost two party members to crits). The character that instigated the fight spent the entire combat on the ethereal plane.
- "platinum"
- "diamond seeds"
- Dying in lots of hilarious ways.
I think I will.
Well, not quite. Horrible implies it was actively bad. Boring just means it doesn't really leave much of an impression.
It's taller than that; I was aiming low.

Re: Random Banter #196
Well, I just got back from shopping.
Tried on a few dozen pairs of pants, returned a few library books, checked out a new one and a couple DVDs. It is frustrating how somebody already got the "Heroes of a Thousand Faces" book. I was really interested in reading it.
Why does it take 3 or 4 hours just to get 3 pairs of pants?

Yeah, I have some huge sweet fangs. It's especially good a few days after the occation when the remaining bits have absorbed moisture from the cream and get a mushy, creamy consistency...
Heh, if you want to get a nice crystal over here, you'll need to go to one of the New Age shops who deal with crystal healing. The last time littlest brother (whose name literally translates to "stone") had his birthday, he got a few nice crystals for presents, and reading the notes that came with them describing their properties was quite amusing for all the wrong reasons...
Once I had half of the boys in my class (7-9th grade) trying and failing to pry a pair of pliers from my hand, one of them who did tai-kwondo and was a general don't-mess-with, all because I'd borrowed them from him when he'd need them in slightly less time than it would take for me to finish using them. Yeah, it would've just gone faster if they didn't try to take them back in the first case...
Good thing it was but a battle of the stubborns, and not any actual hostility...

Re: Random Banter #196
Fire is always a good enough reason to go outside. But right now being outside feels like a fire just from the sun. Forget the cake, all I want is ice cream or something else frozen. I had to move the iron outside to relieve some stress on the air conditioning.
I think I left the iron outside.

I brought the iron back inside. It is not in much danger overnight. It is too hot for dew. It still feels wrong to leave expensive electronics outside though.I have found a RL gaming group but I'm willing to meet other GitP people nearby.

Re: Random Banter #196
Today was a very nice day. So I decided to go outside for a little bit. When I tried to shut the front door behind me, it stuck. So I tried again. Still stuck. Then I opened it and saw that the reason it was stuck was that a bird had somehow gotten wedged in there right at the moment I was shutting the door. That bird was now flying around the inside of our house.
We have a cat.
SHE WENT ABSOLUTELY NUTS.
Between restraining Matilda and not wanting to allow any further wildlife into our house, it took us an half an hour to drive off that frikkin' bird. At least it didn't poop at all that we've found... so far. My mom couldn't get any pictures of him while he was in the house (she was on cat-restraining duty) but as soon as he was outside he went to our birdfeeder and she got this picture of the cheeky little fellow:

The poor bird got fed for its trouble. That is the best ending I have ever heard of to that kind of story.

Re: Random Banter #196
Oh dear... I hadn't considered that. Just remember, that when you next go to the shop, we will be there with you, in spirit. Of course, now that I've said that, it sounds really creepy.
In that case, I shall endeavour to not be in the vicinity when it happens. I prefer my blood to remain on the inside.
I don't think we really had an ice age where I live... Far too subtropical. Though I have always found the layers of rock revealed by road cuttings to be fascinating.
You would be surprised at the wide variety of times one needs an excuse to consume sandwiches.
To tell the truth, I'm not particularly interested in my own genealogy beyond a few basics. I find the ways such things influence history to be of particular interest.
Such stores overcharge for their merchandise, at least in my experience. I mean, I can get good quality natural specimens for comparatively nothing. However, if I want anything fancier than amethyst or citrine, I'd have to look harder. Which reminds me... I wonder if I can get the amethyst I have in my draw upstairs made into a ring or something...

Re: Random Banter #196
Oh come on, LaLa. You can't honestly intend to live your whole life fearful of the outdoors, can you?
You managed to squish the bird not just once, but twice, in what generally can be considered "Finger Hell", and it still continued to be a cheeky little fellow and look all fine in the picture half an hour later? Wow, that's some constitution, I tell you...
True, but there is still such a thing as total annihilation...
No doubt, but they're the only stores in this town to sell them to start with...
And while I mostly fancy gemstones in their rough and natural state, I wish you luck with your amethyst. Is it already cut or would you have it cut for the setting? Or perhaps even set it uncut in the ring?

Re: Random Banter #196
I might. Still, my hair is everywhere. Nothing's holy to it.
As long as I'm alive, no.
-- In the distance, you could hear roars, and if you listened closely enough you could hear the cry, "Amidus! I will wreck you, for awfulness' sake!" --
I'll break you.
Ah, yes, dying. The best way to come up with funny stuff, I'd say. Also, poor party decisions... Come on, there's no such thing as poor party decisions!
Please, eat these mocha squares as well! Ah, it seems I've made too many sweet things to share again... Amipie, please, take some cinnamon buns too! *shoves food down your throat*
Well, 30 metres is still pretty damn high.
Uuuurgh. Stop talking about sweet stuff, I can't handle it. *hides behind Amidus in the corner*
Why, why. Mr. Teddypun, I think you deserve a drink as well.
Also, Nalle! You must eat and sleep properly!
But... But... Fire... It's the best!
And that is why I will win the fight.
Hehehe. I will remember these kind words when I encounter these margarin tubs.
Oh, but, one of the reasons I'd love to go to Australia and New Zealand is that I'm really fascinated by the geography over there! It's very different from here and something I've never seen, so!Originally Posted by LaZodiac

Re: Random Banter #196
And even then, annihilation doesn't necessarily make them give up... Take Japan, for example.
You'd think those would be easy to remember, you know? I normally remember to sleep because I like to go to sleep at roughly 2am, but eating is on a much looser schedule, and sort of falls off to the side.
You're older than I am, so you're more likely to die first.
COME AT ME, BRO!
I'm having trouble thinking of a time where they did something they thought through, ever. Hrm... well, the one dungeon... no, they explicitly left a key in a chest (as in, said they weren't going to take it) that they needed later. The... nope, not that one either. Heh I genuinely can't think of any situation where they made all good decisions. (although the whole "platinum" thing went off almost without a hitch... as did the "diamond seeds" one). The only things they thought through at all were the times they came up with a plan to get some ludicrous amount of money by lying to people.
The juxtaposition of these three things is just hilarious.

Re: Random Banter #196
I'm sure that bird is telling the story to all of its bird friends and getting free drinks at the bird pubs even though they don't quite believe him.
Well, it did lose a few feathers. One of which we thoroughly washed and then put on a piece of string to make the cat's new favorite toy.
He shall be a bird legend.
Oh! I hope he wasn't one of Kneen's special agents, who simply panicked when he was squished! That would be tragic indeed!Last edited by Dimonite; 2013-07-21 at 08:15 AM.

They're not that sweet, the mocha balances it out.

I AIN'T NO BRO *stab*
Only once in my lifetime has my party made a good decision, and that was in 2009 when they decided that it's ok to like my character as her suggestion was over 100%, giving many discounts. A lot of our plans relied on those discounts. We got sort of greedy and picky...
Just because I like making sweet things doesn't mean I eat them. Maybe a bite or two. It also needs a certain state of mind... I'm usually rather high on sugar when we've had our D&D campaign on, which has resulted in Olav (my fair, fair maiden, dwarf barbarian, loves her ponies ) doing something interesting... Or then me doing something stupid off game.

Re: Random Banter #196
Well, I suppose every thousand kilometer journey has to start with a first step...
No, but it may arguably still constitute a loss.
I can remember entire courses without taking a single note, and do advanced head calculations on the fly, but figuring out when to eat has for some reason been completely outside of my grasp...
Sleep is easier, I say a time when I really must be in bed, and go to bed an hour later. Sadly, trying to trick myself by abusing this correlation doesn't work...
Hmm, I've never been that fond of coffee in pastries to start with, but anything with sugar in it goes, I suppose.
*klink*
Well, I just had lunch, but okay...

Re: Random Banter #196
Only by a few years, and that's an average.
PARRY! RIPOSTE! *taps on shoulder*
Hehehehe, excellent. My party consisted entirely of selfish, greedy bastards that were overly eager to screw each other over... unless they were clearly superior in combat (which was not always a big enough deterrent, although Faramel (the cleric) never got killed because of the party's stupidity. His own, however... ) or were capable of generating money.
Heheheh
I never lose.
Well, I'm disciplined enough that I go to sleep when I want, unless something I'm doing keeps me up... I blame chat and PbPs for those times.
Seconded.Last edited by Amidus Drexel; 2013-07-21 at 09:08 AM.
