R2T19: Telgarana concentrates briefly, and chronomantic energy briefly envelops her; unfortunately, she is too far too offer such aid to any other. She then moves at Scribe-speeds west down the hallway towards the throne where the creature was last seen. Then, her shirt shimmers briefly, and she zooms the entire rest of the way.

R2T16: Iluvar moves further into the chamber, getting right up to the dais. Studying what he remembered of the creature before it went invisible, he calls out, "It is another lustspawn."

R2T9: Erima, what do you do? The lustspawn isn't visible right now.

She moves a normal human amount - which is a little faster than expected with her armor - and then for the last 20' is a burst of light ... but still doesn't make it to the dais, and still doesn't see the lustspawn.

R2T8: Rezah hustles.

R3T25: "I have two ways of making her show, but until I can hone into a general area, I got nothing," shouts Fallon as she flies down the hall and lands on the dais, rapier in hand.

R3T9: Sticking with the group by getting into the midst of it (with Rezah as the odd man out), Erima gathers her thoughts. There is a caustic smell, terrible, like that of flesh or tissue being rendered down by a powerful corrosive agent that wafts from Erima.

You don't sense any unseen or errant hostile pings. This means either the sinspawn actually isn't hostile; that that the sinspawn is out of range, or both; or that the sinspawn is warded from your power.

R3T8: Rezah knows a defensive formation when he sees one. He double-moves into Erima's reach.

R4T25: Fallon asks, "So, what's the best way to do this? You want me to very slowly chew on a detect magic which is so-so with an invisible opponent, or what?"

R4T22: "Actually, while in some cases that might not be a bad idea," answers The Scribe, "I say we be more patient than our quarry. Otherwise, either the sinspawn seeks to escape, and who cares? or they will attack and destroy their advantage. Or, we sit here and wait out a few minutes until it falters. I don't think we should waste any resources or time trying to 'make something happen' until the enemy is forced to."

R4T10: As Telly's blade sizzles with energy, she casts a spell and starts moving eastwards to try and track down the source of that chanting. Her spell detects nothing.

R4T9: Erima also moves east, trying to locate the caster. Because she moved, her spell resets and she senses that there are hostile presences in the area of her spell, as there were before, but she would need to stay still to get more information over time (like a detect magic spell's "soak time").

R4T8: Rezah moves as well, and tries to listen to better pinpoint the source of the chanting.

R5T25: Fallon flies to the northern arcade and casts a defensive spell on herself.

R5T22: The Scribe continues looking eastwards, but doesn't say anything.

R5T12.1-.0: The chanting stops just as a creature appears in the "middle" of the party, canting more towards the northern arcade. It is as tall as a dwarf, but where a dwarf is brawn this creature seems bloated and hideous. Still, it moves with some surprising alacrity despite its bulk. It looks around, and then seems to be thinking about its surroundings and lets loose with a terrible flatulence, though it is muted as it is wary of Erima's great reach.

R5T9: With a smirk, Erima lashes out at the blobbo, trying to get rid of it as soon as possible. To Erima, it is all or nothing to do so, but her first hit wildly misses as she has never dealt with the bulk of being this size before. Her second attack is also a miss. Hoping to get full extension on her next attack, she steps back a few feet and calls out, "There is something eastward, I think!"

R5T8: Rezah calls out, "It is a dretch! The lowest of demonkind. Immune to electricity; resistant to all else. Use cold iron or holy weapons."

He then prays more locally as he walks right up to the dretch, "Ruffeth, infuse my weapon with the sharpness of my faith."

End Round 5, Begin Round 6 ...

R6T25: Fallon alights and steps up to the now-flanked dretch. "I don't have any of that nifty stuff. So, I guess surgical cuts to critical areas will have to do," she says with mock sadness."

She stabs deep into the dretch's left shoulder, which is enough for the thing to *pop!* out of existence.

R6T22: The Scribe, more careful now at his speed, zooms down and east along the southern arcade, and then faces the northeast. "I'm getting a hit of something evil!"

R6T12: The chanting begins again. Despite the great acoustics of this chamber (which works against you), it is obviously coming from the eastern side of the chamber. The chanting, as before, is continuous.

R6T16: Iluvar, you completed one round of detect evil, and there is no longer any evil aura in your coverage area (the one aura disappearing when the dretch was destroyed). What do you do?

R6T9: Following the directions, Erima moves as far as she can to get the hidden creature. She got slowed down when she had to squeeze past the pillars, and then was stopped by allies taking up space. Erima doesn't detect an unaccounted hostile "entry."

R6T8: Rezah double moves east.

R7T25: Fallon flies up next to Rezah and listens, trying to get past what she hears as reverb and echo to hear the unreflected voice chanting. "Definitely east and I think the northern arcade?" she calls out.

R7T22: The Scribe holds his position. "One evil aura, faint in level. I am looking northeast of my position."

R7T21.3-.0: The chanting stops, and a voice cries out to attack. Immediately three big spiders bear down on Iluvar's position. He dodges two bites, and kick-deflects a third.

R7T16: Iluvar, you just got charged by three spiders. You are concentrating on detect evil (round 1 was complete), but you no longer sense any evil aura in your coverage area. What do you do?

R8T25: Fallon does a slight side step to flank a spider with Iluvar. She stabs at a spider, dispelling it.

R8T22: "Okay, everyone stop running around," calls The Scribe as he moves up by Erima and changing his fighting stance. "The caster is a summoner who has summoned garbage entities. Everyone ring Erima as she has the reach. Let's just fight the bulls*** that she summons and run her invisibility down. Either she will run away before then, or she will run out of summons and engage us and appear."

R8T21.3: The remaining spider recovers from its previous charge and bites at an untouchable Iluvar.

R8T21.21: The female casting voice is heard again. This time, you are sure it is now coming from somewhere to the west.

R9T15: Telgarana moves up, but before she gets too close the dretch was readied and flatulates hideously, and a noxious green gas gets the entire area around it. Telgarana is too focused on her attack to be affected by the fumes and she gets to her target with a focused strike that hits it in the upper right arm, cutting through inches of fat before striking good muscle and bone for 9 mod.

R9T8: Rezah charges the dretch, ignoring the smell of the cloud, and scoring a gut slash that does 17 + (1d4 bleed).

R10T24: Letting her dorje fall to the ground, Erima grabs the bag of flour - or as she discovers, the empty flour bag - and throws it towards the edge of her hostility sense field, in the southeast. It is flimsy and empty and falls only 15' away.

R10T22: The Scribe looks at Erima with some sense of accidental indignation after she ripped the bag out of his hands (though he didn't resist). He thinks the better of saying anything, however, sensing she must be onto something. He darts south to the arcade and then east to stand over the empty flour-bag, and looking southeast at the wall, trusting in his senses. He switches back to his stance of awareness and then attempts a Hail, Milani! strike in that direction, doing a round, low, leg sweep, but doesn't hit anything.

R10T21: "Clever man," comes a thick-mouthed voice from that direction. "True, you are tougher than expected for my diversions to affect. So try THIS on for size!"

A bolt of lightning arcs out from right where The Scribe had attempted to attack. Somehow, The Scribe manages to dodge a lightning bolt from point blank. Fallon does the same thing ... then the massive Erima ... and then Iluvar! Standing there is that sinspawn, with a guisarme in one hand, and a wand in the other. "She" is dressed, almost a sultry humanoid woman but with the same hideous space of any other sinspawn.

R10T16: Iluvar, you now have a target. You see her a lot better than you did before. This is a lustspawn as the others were. She doesn't appear to be "monstrously" different, so expect the normal sinful bite. Either she is a different, elevated form of sinspawn, or given the casting of actual spells she simply has training that base sinspawn do not/ What do you do?

R10T15: Telly, haste is no longer active. Outside of this cloud you heard a bolt of lightning. You guess the doppler-shift from Iluvar warning about a bite probably doesn't relate to the dretch, but the dretch is there in front of you and Rezah. What do you do?

R10T15: There's a dretch in front of Telly that really needs to not be there. A single strike is all that ends up being needed to dispel it. Unfortunately, the stinky cloud still exists, even when its dispelled creator is gone.

R10T8: Rezah looks at Telly, doesn't smile, but gives an emphatic nod before he heads out of the cloud, his armor making it piteously easy to track his movement as he clangs away.

R11T25: Fallon takes wing, now 5' above the ground, and circles around and stabs with Silverfang, but a momentary blue shimmer shows that this lustspawn has magic protection that stops the blade.

R11T24: Erima repositions, wanting to avoid the grease but still skating over a little bit of it successfully, though he boots cut down on speed going through the slick. Still, she just manages to have enough remaining at the end to strike at the formerly hidden creature. Her axe bites into the lustspawn's chest for 35, a weird and vile ichor splashing out from the creature.

R11T22: The Scribe moves back into his flowing, dance-like stance as he steps back and then with a twisting thrust his ranseur briefly lights up a blue field of arcane force as the weapon effortlessly goes through it to stab her in the left lower leg for 13 + 5 fire. "She has mage armor!" he calls out.

R11T21: The lustspawn uses her wand to send a lightning bolt down the field at Rezah. The half-orc doesn't dodge at all, gets fully lit up, and doesn't take any damage. The lustspawn gives an unholy imprecation, dropping the wand, and then acrobatically tries to get out of the way. To be fair, her acrobatics are better than what the party could normally muster, but surrounded by so many enemies is tough for anyone. Erima's AOO hits against her mage armor; The Scribe stabs her in the left shoulder for 12 + 4 fire; Iluvar does an elbow drop on her right shoulder for 7; and Fallon fails to notice the opening in time. The lustspawn manages to speed away and into the stinking cloud for cover.

Translation: "There! 10' to the south!"

Easily ignoring the cloud to chase down her quarry, Telly stalks to the south, finally seeing the creature in the filthy, fetid haze. She briefly charges the weapon and attacks, but the concealment of the greenish-yellow fog throws off her attack.

R11T8: Realizing this is a tougher, cannier opponent than expected, Rezah casts a protective spell on himself before moving closer to the fog.

R12T25: Fallon flies just to the inside of the cloud, still vaguely seen by the others as she calls out, "Found her! Just northwest of me!"

R12T24: Erima moves as far as she can toward the west while remaining withing the cloud, planning to use her reach to get the creature. She gets stopped from her trajectory by almost running into Telgarana, who seems to be in combat with something Erima is unable to see. That said, Erima realizes her reach will be useless, as she is unable to see beyond 5 feet in the cloud.

R12T22: The Scribe also rockets west, passing underneath Erima's legs to go past her. He shouts, "Contact! She's a flier, but at deck level."

Within that portion of the cloud, he has come up next to Telgarana. He chokes up on the haft of his ranseur and silvery energy limns the business end of his polearm as he attacks the sinspawn, but the weapon is deflected. For a second, it seems to Telgarana and Erima (who can see The Scribe, but not the target) as if he is overcome only briefly by some type of trance.

R12T21: The enemy withdraws from the visible file of three heroes.

R12T16: Iluvar, you see the sinspawn zoom out of the cloud at high speed, and gaining altitude - currently at a height of 25' off the ground. Since the ceiling is 30', this means she is effectively flying at ceiling level, and much closer to the dais. What do you do? And do you say anything to the mass of fellows that see nothing from within the cloud?
