A game is a fictional construct created for the sake of the players, not the other way around. If you have a question "How do I keep X from happening at my table," and you feel that the out-of-game answer "Talk the the other people at your table" won't help, then the in-game answers "Remove mechanics A, B, and/or C, impose mechanics L, M, and/or N" will not help either.

I guess fighters are made for a kick in the door style too! Or in this case, kick open the coffin. Either way!

Though, once again, this is just seeming like a countdown until they have to enter the rift.

They just can't catch a break, like always. Here's hoping for some nonfriendly fire between the two groups, otherwise it's an OOTS sandwich for breakfast.

    Heh.
So with Nale passing up his shot all we need now is to see what's up with Tarquin and how he can summon something to attack the OotS and then leave as well.

So Nale is learning. Good for him.

I'm paranoid we're coming into a downer ending for this book. Not that anybody else dies, but that the Order are totally over their head and it will take the likes of Tarquin to bail them out. Here's to hoping they figure a way out of this themselves.

While that was spectacularly badass, I sure hope Roy learns to carry a spare weapon soon. This is at least the second, if not third, time not carrying a spare really hurt him.

... I never thought that Elan actually fought the cactus.

And now it sounds like he lost. To a cactus. How he managed that must be a thorny issue.

What a terrible, awful, horrible, glorious pun.

You introduced the coffin just so you could make that casket joke, didn't you Rich?

Don't bother to deny it, I'm on to you.

Hopefully now everyone who was in the "There's no way a CR 11 Elemental will be a proper challenge" pool will now agree: adding two fiends to the mix makes this a much bigger danger than before. It's go time.
