Re: Dallas-Dakota's Dastardly and Devious Dancing Debate of Random Banter #198
Well, I'm allergic to some types of pollen and some types of animal hair, but not cripplingly so. Then again, I don't normally try to eat those, so...
Now, I enjoyed my 5am to 10am sleeping schedule!
Yeah, yeah, sure.
...Feel better, man.
*nods* Yeah... VA's sort of in the middle in this respect, as we get reasonably hot summers, and reasonably cold winters... Some people still hate the weather at certain points (I can't stand the summers here without AC or lots of fans), but it's fairly temperate here; it has to be exceptionally hot or cold to really be out of line for what we get. You'd probably find our summers comfortable and our winters extremely cold, though.
Well, you could use xanthous, although my skin isn't tinted yellow right now... I've been drinking properly lately.
Feel better, Zodi :\

Re: Dallas-Dakota's Dastardly and Devious Dancing Debate of Random Banter #198
I like a certain degree of responsibility, but there is a sweet spot where not having a lot of it lets you be more playful, and thus have more fun.
Yeah, I personally like most apples, but can't be bothered about apple juice, because they just don't taste the same...
Hehehe... :3
While the mass huggles sure sound snuggly and cosy, I must say that the menal image of the hug conga line is hilarious!
*hugs*
Yay, cookies! If I ever was in doubt before (I wasn't), then there's not the slightest shade of doubt hanging over the fact that you're a good person as well!
*returns hugs, noms cookies* :3
Sure, it isn't too many thousand kilometres away from our regular summer farm trips, a little detour shouldn't take too long...
Yeah, you're right about this. Either way, it's rather common for tropical fruits to arrive still not perfectly ripened...
Hmm, I assume this fruit market lies rather far away from your house, yes?
Anything starting with "xeno-"?
He mentioned it in the last thread (I think), and posted a picture of his face a few days (and one or two pages) ago in the You! thread.
Hehehe... :3
Yes, this is what I've come to think as well. Acknowledge my feelings, whether good or bad, and no matter how overwhelming it feels at the time. It's overwhelming and puts me at an edge, but at the same time, it's such a wonderful feeling to just feel...
Well, it's so similar to Danish and Norwegian that we can understand eachother for as long as we don't speak too fast, but the three languages all have a very different tone to them. Finnish has a rather similar tone (when learning Finnish, we're told that 'u' is pronounced like 'o' and 'o' is pronounced like 'å'), but it's still not quite the same. I have a too poor grasp on other languages to tell if there are any more that sound similar (I only know a lot which don't)...
Well, aquired tastes is a thing, but yeah, I believe a vast majority of the coffee drinkers I know aquired it during their high school or university studies because they needed the caffeine.
And yes, there's something certain about the smell of coffee. Coffee roasteries don't smell very good, though. You want it to be a fine aromatic backdrop, not have your breathing space saturated with it...
Thank you all for your kind thoughts! As you probably can tell from my post above, I'm feeling a lot better today, but your care for me is warming nevertheless!
*hugs for all*

It's okay, I'm okay now.

Re: Dallas-Dakota's Dastardly and Devious Dancing Debate of Random Banter #198
This is the perfect way to look at it. Good thoughts Teddy, good thoughts. For now my only real responsibilities are school, taking care of the house, assisting my grandma when she needs it, and taking care of my dog. And school is almost enough on its own. Does DMing count as a responsibility?
This is acceptable. I am okay with apple juice, not a huge fan really. I can't get enough of orange juice though, and unlike other examples I have named I do really like oranges. Unfortunately all I have now is that weird taste after just waking up from a nap. Do not care for, trying to wash it out with cherry soda, if this fails then chocolate milk.
Heh I'm glad you think so. It only came to mind as I was writing that. I'm glad you are feeling better. *hugs*
Awe thanks. I do try to be. I don't always succeed, but I am a tiny bit like Roy's Lawfulness in that regard; I never stop trying to improve on it. Helps that there are people who really believe in me. Now there is one more! Now, to make more cookies.
Ooh absolutely! I am curious for these hats, and seeing friend would be coolness. Also I hope this bachelor party is very much fun!

Re: Dallas-Dakota's Dastardly and Devious Dancing Debate of Random Banter #198
Yeah, the You! thread picked up a bit of pace with a page or two of pure sympathy afterwards. Have you found the photo of him yet? It's on page 45 in the You! thread.
Yeah, as a Germanic language, Swedish is actually more related to English than any of those. If you wait a second, I have a sound clip of me speaking where I does half of it in Swedish, which I recorded for the Post Your Voice thread. Vocaroo has deleted the uploaded copy, but I think I still have the original version on my computer, so I should be able to reupload it. I'll look for it after I've finished this post...
Heh, yeah, I've got some massive sweet fangs too. I'm especially fond of some of the traditional Swedish sodas. Funnily enough, though, I drink my tea unsweetened...
*more hugs* :3
Oh, oh, me, me! :3
I'd count it as a responsibility, yes, but it should be kept in that sweet spot where everything is just playful and fun. :3
Hmm, weird tastes are no fun. Good luck with finding a suitable detergent! :3
Yeah, so am I! :3
*hugs*
Yeah, I'm a true optimist, believeing in others comes naturally to me. And know that no one has to be perfect, I'm far from so myself. What we strive for is what define us just as much as who we are. :3

Re: Dallas-Dakota's Dastardly and Devious Dancing Debate of Random Banter #198
Well, I'm currently at a place that I can't see posted images, so I'll have to find it when I get home. I'll go subscribe to the thread, however, for ease of finding when I finally arrive home. (working a 12 hour shift today )
Ah! Germanic. I know...like three words of german, but my last name has a town in Germany named after it...does that count? Truely - I'm a mutt. But mostly scottish and german. As with the last problem, I'll have to listen when I get home in any case, so take your time, that'll be a few hours still.
That's interesting. Hmm. I like sweet teas for the most part, but I dislike iced tea unless it is raspberry (which I've found to like). Guess that means I like REALLY sweet teas. I generally have things like apple cinemon, caramel, blue berry, raspberry, so on. What consists of a swedish soda?
Anymore hugs and this will become a Glomp!
Alrighty. Let's see how much I get done tomorrow. The process is complicated, but I'm enjoying it! I taught myself and its going pretty well. I'm known for my inginuity with cardboard, duct tape, and hot glue, so when I discovered that a top hat is mostly carboard and felt...Amazing things happened.Last edited by TheWombatOfDoom; 2013-08-27 at 03:56 PM.

Oh joy...
Well, good luck with persevering! :3
Well, I can't promise to be awake in a few hours time, but here it is (skip to just past the 1 minute mark if you want to get directly to the Swedish part).
Well, my favourite of the Swedish ones is the classical julmust, but I also like the soft drinks Trocadero and Portello (the latter being completely unrelated to the one marketed by the Coca-Cola Company). I don't think I'll ever manage to do them justice if I try to describe them, though...

Oh my! I know the feeling, you want to be useful but you can't really be useful when you're bedridden. *hugs* Dearest Zoozie, be well! I would offer you some lemon and ginger tea, but I'm not too sure if you'd like it.
I have no idea if it's because of a flu season as uni hasn't started yet. Must be stress and all that jazz. *wipes nose on hankie*
Fahrenheit is horrible. Stop using it!
I'm allergic to some pollen as well, but thankfully not allergic to animals. Heheh. Now I have an image of Barbarian-Amidus hunting down some furry animal, digging in through the fur and then getting an allergic reaction... Hehehe.. Heh...

Re: Dallas-Dakota's Dastardly and Devious Dancing Debate of Random Banter #198
Okay good, so far it is. I am running two games, but one is all pregenerated. So I only really have one to worry about, and another friend is helping to co-GM it.
Heh not sure what you mean by detergent (all that comes to mind to me is the stuff used on laundry), but I have some fresh water and pizza rolls so nothing but good tastes now.
Wow really is a hug fest in here. *also glomps*
Yes, this I can agree with, though my optimism tends to come and go. I have articles saved online to read to help refresh my belief in humanity. I am also considering writing a list of names of people who believe that I am a good person, to help pull me out of those very depressed and self-demeaning times. I like the idea.
This makes sense, yeah. Stress can lead to illness, as many can attest to these days. And glad I can help!
I wish I could! I do believe that Celsius makes more sense, but I've been raised with Fahrenheit and most thermometers here use it, so I am a bit stuck. And I still do not know the formula to convert between the two. I should look it up somewhere.

Re: Dallas-Dakota's Dastardly and Devious Dancing Debate of Random Banter #198
A perfectly balanced dose of responsibility, then.
Yeah, I like to play a little with words and call things by other names. You needed something to remove the taste, so I took to refering to whatever you'd use as a detergent, since it'd wash the taste off.
And good thing you got rid of that evil taste...
My life became so much happier when I realised that there are lots of people out there who also thinks there's a hug for every occation.
*more glomps*
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea indeed. You should go through with it.
The formula is °C * 9 / 5 + 32 = °F. For a frame of references, water freezes at 0 °C and boils at 100 °C, regular body temperature is 37 °C, regular room temperature is 20-25 °C, your refrigerator is probably at 4-8 °C and your freezer at -18 °C.Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...

I absolutely love this picture. Gotta show my friends later.
And I have to agree with this. Both are very good for throats and other uncomforts.
I'm going to have to agree. I'll say more on those games though when more has progressed.
Hmm really...nice idea. I can see what you mean by it. Though I have already frank through a bottle of water and a full can of soda, so I should get something else to drink. Probably that milk.
Ahh! *ish glomped* This is mostly true. Sadly there are those who say otherwise. No to that idea though. Definitely focus on the good of that: much more hugs.
I will when I have some time, probably tonight. I'll be sure you are quickly placed on the list. And I am definitely putting my girlfriend on there a few times. She helps a lot.
Ah thank you for this, and especially for the references! I knew the water ones, but all the rest are new to me. Again thank you.

Yes.
Heheheh, it's not really a serious reaction; with cats and dogs, it's never more than irritating my eyes a little bit (if anything at all). I think the worst reaction I had was from a rabbit, and that was just some red spots on my face that went away shortly after I washed it.
A fraction of a very tiny number is still a very tiny number.

Well that's normal here, as well. However, multiple days in a row where it's hitting near or above 100* is TOO FRIKKIN' HOT.
Right now, at least, it's hotter here than it is in Texas. Just sayin'.
Hey, I'm perfectly fine right up to a heat index of 35*C! I just turn into a whiner after that point.

Re: Dallas-Dakota's Dastardly and Devious Dancing Debate of Random Banter #198
In that case Finn, I suggest thick curtains and cloth wall hangings. Alternatively, getting to bed earlier, but seriously, we all know redecorating is significantly easier than changing one's sleep schedule.
I do hope that you begin to feel better shortly.
Seriously? Twenty-five degrees? How... How do you even handle standing in a kitchen with the oven on?
Anyway... It's official Finn. You must now visit Queensland.
As far as I can determine, it's quite common to not like certain foods prepared or served in certain ways, but then like them when they are served in other ways.
Alas, there is no other method for one's blood to be analysed to determine the state of one's health. Eventually, I am certain science will invent a device that can peer through the skin, count blood cells and determine the proportions of dissolved nutrients, etc. But I rather doubt it will happen any time soon. So, until then, needles remain the most practical and least traumatic method.
As for losing blood, do not worry, a tree sheds many leaves a year, but they still grow strong.
I am already much improved. I have determined that the reason behind my feeling terrible yesterday was the fact that I had not eaten combined with a terrible night's sleep.
It is indeed good to hear that you have also recovered.
Personally, I just use Google, and will continue to do so until America embraces the metric system. I live in hope that the day will come eventually and I can stop having to convert everything.
Yeah... I need a fan to sleep at night during the Summer. The heat makes it even harder to fall asleep. But I'm usually fine during the day.
And of course I'd find your Winters extremely cold, it snows over there. On the other hand, I can without a shadow of a doubt, assure you that not once has it snowed during recorded history where I live. In fact, it's still August, and thus still technically Winter, and I have decided to shun all attempts to dress warmly as it's no longer worth the effort.
That is why I have decided that when I decide to finally get around to my tour of America, that I am travelling during either the Spring and Summer, or the Summer and Autumn.
Hmm... You should be careful to avoid that in future... I'd rather your health not be so terrible as for you to become jaundiced. Not that a yellowish discolouration of the skin always mean jaundice, but its the first thing that popped into my mind.
That's the spirit!
That just shows there were no delays when shipping. After all, the system is very efficient:
Fruit gets picked, packed, moved to port, shipped, moved to the shop, unpacked ready for sale. If they've done their job right, there should be almost no waiting around. After all, if they do arrive ripe, then they need to be sold practically immediately, and that's not going to happen all the time.
I am uncertain of the walking distance due to the route being an unusual shape, but yes. At least twenty minutes each way, with the way back involving the carrying of a box, a task my arms would object to due to the uncomfortable nature of it.
Hmm... I completely forgot about that prefix...
That is indeed good to hear. I hope that you will continue to be better.
It is indeed neat. But yes, highly annoying. I should probably stop being lazy and get back to it, but I really don't want to...
I do. Thank you.
You always manage to get a laugh out of me Finn.
Just get a fan, you'll be fine.
You are aware that zero degrees Fahrenheit is about negative eighteen Celsius? If it reached that temperature around here and stayed there for more than a few days, it would be a local mass extinction event? The Nile has frozen over more often than the Brisbane River. As such, I reserve the right to complain whenever the temperature is such that the floor fogs up around my feet.

Re: Dallas-Dakota's Dastardly and Devious Dancing Debate of Random Banter #198
I know. But using Fahrenheit as the basis for temperature based complaints is flawed, which was my rather poorly articulated point.
As for the floor, it's polished hardwood and gets cold during the night in Winter. Thus, if you then stand on it with bare feet, your feet are warmer than it and it caused the moisture in the air to condense on the floor. It's actually pretty cool, but it is also annoying.Mauve Shirt, Savannah, Gnomish Wanderer, Cuthalion and Smuchmuch get cookies for making me avatars. (::)
