The name is really fun to say!
Her wardrobe came out magnificent, I'm especially fond of her goggles and dangling watch

The goggles were an afterthought actually. I was told she didn't look 'steam-punky' enough to be a goddess of Gadgets, Music, and Trickery. (Bard/Rogue/Artificer)

The way I used to do patterns was just making a tiny shape and duplicating it a bunch Very time intensive.

Not really. I took a floral thing I made ages ago for something not OotS related, copy pasted it a lot, clipped it, and put it under the stroke. Fairly easy, actually.

Here's the two pictures that I've used this on before deconstructed. I also put a larger version of the floral thing I used in both in it.

Hello everyone! I've been so swamped and tired for the last few weeks that I've been barely payig attention to this thread. Which is a shame, because I always enjoy it. (Darn school.) But I've recently had some time and energy for avataring, so I thought I'd share.

    Kitty

First thing's first, I updated an old version of my character. Those tails were just dreadful before. I'm much more satisfied with this. (Don't praise me too much if you're inclined to, though. I did a bit of tracing. )

    Samiyah

Here's my boyfriend's character for a pbp game. Horses are kind of a huge pain, so I just copied one of the Giant's and tweaked it. Doing non-humanoid stuff is still not something I'm very good at. I'm rather pleased with how the avi came out overall, though.

    Obriane

Another request from the bf! Well, the first one was the request. I did the second under my own initiative. I really like those antlers, even if they shrink the image.

    Astrana and Valente

*cough cough* Halloween costumes! The witch doctor and her loyal attack zombie. There was a certain theme here; one that I think I captured entirely too well.

And this one spawned for a simply terrible joke that the bf made, and I just had to draw it. I would advise against looking up the song those lyrics are from.

    Obraine again!

This one was entirely too much fun to draw. All I'll say is there's more to Obriane than meets the eye. I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but there's no detail at all, so I figured I was safe.

She does! She's actually a kitsune, though not a full fledged nine tailed one. The variety of kitsune I decided she is is born with one tail and gains one more every century

Your stuff's good as always, Ghar.
The multiple tails thing is something I don't really plan on doing for my kitsune. Mist would probably freak out if I did. Of course, that's a pretty good reason to consider doing it, I suppose.

Gulaghar, first off: thanks for the help on the kissing bit earlier that was helpful and I don't think I ever commented it.

    Moving on!
The Halloween costumes, I think I know what you're getting at. Kinky
The rap couple.... W-what did I just read? Is he saying what I think he means? That's not a genre I personally listen to and I'm honestly to frightened to listen to the song or look up the lyrics
The antlers came out great and the kitsune is cute

On a slightly unrelated note, can dryads come from cacti? If they can, I wanna see your view on a cactus dryad

@LordDeathkeeper: Haha, well I never had to handle her first new tail on screen. I bet it freaked her out at the time, because she didn't have anyone to explain to her what being a kitsune means. She still doesn't know a lot, though she's picked up various myths and legends.

    @gurgleflep:
    Glad I could help!
    Yes, totally kinky.
In this case he's referring to how he likes big butts and he cannot lie. Don't let your imagination get too far ahead of you. XD
    Thanks!

As for the cactus dryad. I tend to stick to actual trees for dryads. That said, I could see some kind of lesser fey associated with cacti. Probably something child sized. Hm, I may have to think about it. It's an interesting idea.

Imagination got further ahead than I would have liked just by reading it Not a big deal, I've imagined/visualized far weirder things
    Welcome

Why child sized, is it a size thing? There are some decent sized cacti out there. I'm glad you find it interesting

Mostly because I'm imagining some sort of little, mischievous person, and that seems to fit in my mind. And besides, I think it's interesting that fey come in all shapes and sized, so I'm more inclined to do something nonstandard once in a while.

Or you could do a 100-foot tall saguaro dryad. They're pretty much trees.

That's pretty cool, Cuthalion. Especially the rat. The bird could use some improvement, though. The area around the face seems almost cluttered. The lack of hard lines within the bird takes away from it too. And finally, the style of eye just looks odd in oots style, because the lines to make it are so fine, which doesn't match the rest of the style.

Line consistency could help you here, but I think that the main problem is with posing. The Orc here shares the same T-posed posture as your main avatar, which makes him look a lot more like an action figure than a living, breathing creature. If you put him in a more natural pose I'm sure he would look much better. That's not something that comes naturally to everyone, though. I for one am still working on that in my avatars, but if you look at the avatars of some of the "greats" out there, natural posing and fluid line consistency are always a feature.

Trying to create natural looking posing has always been difficult for me. I think I've improved (slightly, mind you ) compared to how I originally posed characters, though.
