Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Nice! My suggestion would be to cut out the inner fire outlines.
By the by, people, there's a new version of Inkscape out. Not much has changed, but it's shinier.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
I'm trying to bring my kobolds back to the standard style; I wasn't really satisfied with the direction I was taking.

I liked the way you were drawing kobolds before, but I like these ones too. Particularly the one second from the top, for some reason.

Nice! Though the fire doesn't look quite normal. It looks more behind it than on it's back..
Nice job. Though the fire looks like it is coming out of the wrong parts of the boots to be rocket boots, and the gun does not look held quite right.Avatar made by Bradakhan| Other avatars.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Hmm... the hand, I now see, looks like it is part of the handle. I am not good with art, so I don't know how to fix it. The boots depend. I don't know much about rocket boot physics, but if the fire is coming out of the back, it will propel you forward, and out of the bottom gets you up. It all depends on which you want. Right now they look to me like they would propel the person forward, possibly causing them to flip over backwards if you want to get into the physics of it.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
She's just launching off; and she will be travelling horizontally. To counter the falling backwards you lean forward, and I think that's about it.
Though I have tweaked it to a terrified version. (Picture not available at the moment. Might upload it later).
Update: Here it is. Now how on earth do I set it as my avi? I've uploaded onto Photobucket and the link to the 120px version begins with http:// and ends in png, but apparently it's the wrong format...

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
First time making an OOTS-Style Avatar; I made it in Inkscape, loosely following the tutorial. I started my own thread for it before someone pointed out that this thread exists.
This is the basic beginning character so far; my eventual intent is to put Sith-style robes on him over his normal clothes. Maybe if I get really ambitious, I'll take one hand away from his sword and put in some Force-lightning or something. I see that a lot of people are posting images bigger than the forum's avatar size; should I export mine larger as well?78% of DM's started their first campaign in a tavern. If you're one of the 22% that didn't, copy and paste this into your signature.
Where did you start yours?
I started with a false start on a planet seconds before it collided with another planet. When it started for real, it was on a prison transport ship that got shipwrecked.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
People usually post much larger versions here since it makes it easier to show (off) all the little details that get lost when the image gets sized down to 120x120.
It makes it easier for other people to find little things to fix and suggest though.
As for the avatar itself, it looks good, especially for a first timer. Although I would look into making the lines a little thicker, especially the arms and legs.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Okay, I guess that's two people saying that; I was actually worried that they looked a little thicker than they should. I might increase the thickness on my next export; but this export is the same as the previous one, just at double the size, so you might be able to see where I forgot to reattach one of the legs:
I'm also thinking the lightsaber looks a little short; what do you think?
Edit: Okay, I'm just going to make it huge:

Also, under Fill and Stroke there's an option for rounded corners... use that liberally.
I'd also suggest removing the line at the base of the nose.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Okay, I rounded the corners, and except for the hair, I think that makes for a lot of improvements (no way am I rounding the feather). I also thickened the lines for the arms and legs, and noticed that a few other lines were not as thick as I was specifying for everything else; this brings up the question of whether there is a way to make a default line thickness for a default, because it's really annoying having to constantly change it.
I also tried deleting the line from the nose, but I find it really disturbing, or maybe it's just because I've been staring at the original Disney art for too long?

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
I'd make the ends come to a rounded end, rather than squared.
Also, maybe duplicate the nose, and in Fill and Stroke change the fill of the upper layer to a gradient so it sort of looks like it transitions in the nose?

I'd say the nose looks much better with the line.

I'll assume you're talking about the one with a bonfire on it's head. That's Charcopse, a fire/grass fakemon.

From A Certain Magical Index, the character Accelerator, or at least, something like him.
