What if Haley tries to roll a sneak attack… on a world with no dice?!
Mix and match of worlds and heroes, even between heroes themselves!

There’s a catch, though. We have an extra challenge.
This challenge is A Distinctive Lack of Blue.
Try to abstain from using the color blue!

Remember: All artwork must be your own. Do not take, alter, or use any of the The Giant's art. Thanks.

Categories
There will be a First through Third place award for each of the following:

Best Avatar (any avatar-sized submission)
Best OOTS Avatar (any Order of the Stick based submission)
Best Scene (anything larger than the above)
Best Rookie Entry (If you've yet to win a prize, your entry will automatically fall under this category, along with the main category) [Please, do mark your entries with this as well, to help ease the judges' job]
And, as always, the Best Overall award.

I’ll personally make a special trophy for any kind of awesometastic entry in the form of a Crimms’ Choice Award, which may be anything that I find particularly great, funny or incredible.

Rules
1. Every entry must include a bolded introduction as to what category you are trying to enter in.

2. Every entry must include an italics introduction as to what your entry is.

3. Only the avatarist who created the avatar may submit it.
However, you may submit old creations as long as they have never been entered into an Iron Avatar Thread before. It does not have to be something made specifically for this thread.

4. All entries must be posted by October the 14th at 23:50, Central Standard Time.

Hey Crimmy, couple of housekeeping things/suggestions/clarifications:
1. You might like to drop one of the judging slots. IIRC it was originally 4, including the dude in charge. From memory (which could well be faulty), Ruki forgot/didn't notice that, and then had some trouble with too many judges. Up to you, no biggy, but you might find 4 total easier to manage.
2. Rookie ended up being changed to "anyone who hasn't won a prize yet". You might be changing that back again, as is your prerogative, but I thought I'd mention it in case you just missed it.
3. I think usually Best OoTS was any oots, large or small, not just avatars. You changing that?
4. With your "extra challenge", I suggest making it stand out somehow. It's new, it's likely to get missed as it is.

A nice rule here is that you get two pre-made scenes per category, so I think it would help to stick "premade" in there somewhere.

It's okay without it. The only thing that you shouldn't submit is something that has been in another IA contest. So don't mind that, you can submit your art.

Also, don't mind the challenge. That's there in case you wanna do it (I will make a special trophy for that) but the contest itself works fine as it is.

And thanks for participating, I love seeing new faces for anything.

9. You are allowed to enter any artwork created before the contest, but you are limited to two pre-made entries per category. There is no limit for entries made for the contest. This rule still requires you to adhere to rule 5.

And believe me, I respect Haruki. He's a great guy, and ran the IA ship with valor and wisdom.
But the point of the matter is, the ruleset for this contest is not the same as the Middle Earth one.

Precisely because of that. I found that the rule to restrain avatarists from submitting perfectly good avatars and/or scenes simply because they had submitted too many that they had already done was kinda unfair.

iIt might take more to judge, but to be honest, the avatarists themselves worked hard and long to make their puns work, their poses fit, and their art look great. I would feel bad, both as judge and avatarist, to put a stop to them simply because it's "too many you already had lying there".

It is my preference as well, but I certainly understood why the rule was introduced (and I'm not really an impartial party, since I think I'm partly the reason it was introduced in the first place... ).

Let's see, some ideas...
- Animorphs in the D&D world? Can't you just imagine Rachel getting her psycho claws on a dragon form, and Cassie wrangling with the ethics of morphing into all these sentient beings?
- Alanna of Trebond (or pretty much any of Tamora Pierce's characters) coming face to face with, say, Bella.
- Han Solo and Jack Sparrow swap places.
- Predator hunts Darth Vader
- Someone in the Matrix world, not sure who.
I'd like to see something with Manly Guys Doing Manly Things, but it's already all about cross overs.

No, the idea is that the general "blue" tone should be avoided in case you wanna follow the challenge. But just the blue tones, colors that "contain" blue are fine, so long as they're distinctly, you know, not blue.
(In general, purple might be a worse bet than green, considering the RGB code can, technically, have green without blue, but not purple without blue)

First time participant; hope I did everything right. Did my best not to include blue, although some of the purple shades might be iffy...

Um, the picture isn't too large, is it? I didn't see a size limit so I kind of went crazy.

EDIT: edited because a) the color scheme of the Elan panel was grossing me out and b) I can't believe I forgot Belkar's cloak. Also, the image got bigger. I don't know how that happened.
