Default Ngilop's Critique exchange for homebrew.

Hello everybody. I am here to offer up my own evaluations, opinions, and thoughts on your self-created works.

I have nothing against Jeff the Green or his own PEACH EXCHANGE In fact it is why I am doing this.

I just notice that there are a few homebrew that manage to slip through the cracks, peopel post their homebrew and sometimes it just never gets found. Or in my case found a little too late ( i.e after one can be banned for thred necromancy)

SO before I go about posthing this thread and opening it up for everybody a little info how I am going to go about my critques

I am going to critque the homebrew in a vacuum. When I critque I assume its only the PHB and the class itself. Unless other wise directed.

I am a null-optimizer. In that while i can do decent optimization (power attack>weapon focuz.. why is toughness even a feat?) I am nowhere near the abilityt hat most of the GiTP0ers are. Optimization is the last ( if i ever care about it anyways) think I am thinking of when I make a character.

SO without further ado I open my thoughts up to you all and will to the best of my abilities promise that i will post critiques on your homebrew.

If you want to critique mine well Ask,( i think most of my homebrew is now past the thread necromancy date But I can post to fix that)

I will never drop one liners that say "
    won't play past lvl 1"
or as was said in regards to my Hexblade
So this is a Witch without healing, without 9th level casting, and instead getting full BAB and a companion?
    or complain
" mount is worhtless, why would a paladin get a mount"
and never ever give thoughts on how i would make a mount worth it

I will strive and endeavor to be as gentle and respectful to you and I would hope you would be to me.

well, since you're practically asking for it, I'd like you to peach my abjurer class! The class itself is completed, only things missing are shield skills but I'm not concerned by those, since they basically some minor boosts to the class' main ability (and the "powerful" ones have a level prerequisite)..I'll post them somewhen in the future, but it may take a while since I'm away from home and I don't have my pc with me!

You can find the class here:

here is a list of things of mine you can critique.

one day I hope ot be recognized by the homebrew community at large but alas that will never happen even when one of the big names mentions me nothing happens

Take a look at my Ninja please

    my samurai

    My witch doctor

    My Primal

    My Soul Blade

    My healer

    my grappler

    My monk

    and lastly

    My Hexblade

    please :)

I am aiming for 'tier' 3 for them but 'tier' 4 will suffice.

    Hello Ngilop,

I have a nice clichee Dragon Rider prc I need some feedback at. It needs Tome of Battle and Draconomicon to work (Martial initiating and dragons) but for the rest, it should be pretty explanatory.

On a side note, if you want, you can pm me the links to your homebrew which you want PEACHed. I'll send you my feedback as a PM, to prevent thread necromancy. I'll hear from you if you want to exchanged a few PEACHes ^^. I have some artifacts and disciplines in the making if you're further interested.

Regarding your Monk (not posting there, because it's borderline thread necromancy... but you can bump it if you feel like it, because it's your thread):

Acrobatics - not enough to count.
Ki Strike - not enough to count.
Slow Fall - inferior to featherfall
Wholeness of Body - not enough to count
Bonus Ability - nice build-versatility, but it seems like all could be enlightenments (i.e. seems a bit like a filler feature).
Fists of Fury - requires proper wording.
Unrestrained Combat - specify that attacking does not force the monk to end her movement, and that she may complete her full movement after attacking.
Diamond Body - nice. I'm stealing this one
Diamond Soul - should have a clause that a monk can let spell effects through as a free action.
Ex-Monks - lose that one, as well as the alignment restriction.

I'm willing to peach both your hexblade (I can immediaty tell you that I like what I see) and your witch doctor (even tough I'd like to have some details on the concept/fluff, since I'm not familiar with it). So if you can post on those thread I'll peach them as soon as I can! (also, sorry for not having done that before, but I hadn't seen your post with the classes on this thread)

In exchange for the second peach, could you peach back my magus archetype? You can find it here:

Ive been working on a big Fighter revision project and AM looking for more ideas. post #11 has my fluff for a fighter, so it be nice to get a few words on if that sound decent or not.

I still am coming up blank with what i should put in as a 17th level ability.

im thinking of bumping momentum down to like lvl 9 or 10 and adding in a new ability that lets the fighter be a bit more deadly.

for 17th I am throwing the idea around in my head of a universe rending strike that duplicates Gate, but only the travel aspect.. In a long ago thread I suggested that FIghters should gett abilities that replciate the power of heracles and such.. and one of the thing heracles did was sunder a damn mountain top to travel to the underwolrd.. seems pretty gate ish to me.

Honestly I just want to get any of my homebrew for 3.5 looked at. I'll take a look at your Witch Doctor and another class or two if you want and PM you my PEACH.

Shadow Shifter: A savage melee class that turns the shadows into material weapons.

Strategist: A leader class (no Leadership feat necessary) buffer that grants bonuses to the party as long as certain criteria are met. Eventually gains the ability to potentially avoid spells.

Opportunist: A class I've been thinking of for a while but don't know how to work it. It is based almost solely on Attacks of Opportunity, but adds a lot of new options for having them provoked against you (if an enemy attacks and misses, large or larger enemies provoke multiple, etc).

I am not by any means asking you to look over all of them... just whichever you feel like. I am new to homebrewing and want as much feedback as I can get.
