Mixed Miniature Battles?

I have this question Im trying to figure out so A shop-Owner can run a competition.

About say, four days ago, me and my friend were playing with our D&D(Me) and Starwars(Him) miniatures(like the 5 year olds we 13 year olds are) and get to the point where we start to battle. We were arguing over who was winning when we figured, hey? why not do a skirmish? So we aligned all our pieces up to 500 points, and battled. When we were done, the shop-keep asked "But what about the point differance?" We thought about it and I looked it up, but to no avail.

So My question is, how can we deal with the point differance?

I'd love to answer your question, but I don't know the answer.
The main reason for that is that this is the RPG section, which I do know a few things about . Maybe you can try your luck in the Gaming (Other Games) section!
