Default what title would you give my npc's position?

Take the following hypotheticals about my npc & help me come up with a good name for his position's title please?
    • criminals who would normally be sentenced to death are more likely to be sentenced to undeath as a mindless ghoul under a necromancer type's control
    • terminally ill & others with no hope might occasionally sign up for a screening process that results in promising candadites being selected to become a ghoul in exchange for a large amount of money to leave behind for whatever reason.
    • this npc is employed by the government (standard medieval king/duke/earl/etc type things) with a prestigious position tasked with performing the screening, conversion of selected living into to undead creatures like mindless ghouls, & ensuring that the crown/military owned ghouls & tending to their needs through legal means (i.e. necromantically treated pig/cow meat/blood)

What would you call this guy's position title? stable-master, or whatever the rookery equivalent is feels similar to the position, but this feels different than any old stablemaster & should probably allude to some sort of semi-nobility title feeling

I would go with something bureaucratic and noble, like the Minister of Undeath, or the Minister of Necromancy.

Extremely disturbing, but probably a very good title for that bit of cognitive dissonance.

Necromantic Recruiter? You did say he was basically in charge of offering the deals or otherwise picking who was to be raised.
Most people see a half orc and and think barbarian warrior. Me on the other hand? I think secondary trap handler and magic item tester. Also I'm not allowed to trick the next level one wizard into starting a fist fight with a house cat no matter how annoying he is.

The job involves putting prisoners to death, making judgments for the ruler, and using unnatural and evil powers to defile corpses in ways that are an abomination to men and gods.

    The traditional title is "Vizier".

Hmm... responsible for turning people into soulless drudges, and the people go along with it because it's marginally better than the alternative?

    Director of Human Resources?

Edit: While I meant that as a joke, it has a disturbingly literal quality that I kind of like. I think I would actually use it if it were my game.

Glad somebody likes it. As an added bonus, trials would be hilarious:

Judge: "I hereby find you guilty of arson, murder, and jaywalking. The law allows only one penalty for these crimes. The defendant is sentenced to report to the Director of Human Resources at noon tomorrow."

One trouble is it feels a little too Dilbert, which doesn't fit with the mediaeval-esque aspect.
The Warden of the Returned, Returned being a euphemism for the undead.

It can work as a gag. Like you search for the evil reanimator and find some tired-looking nerd in a black robe sittjng behind a desk in an office labeled "Director of Once-Human Resources", who tries to direct your complaints to customer service.
