    Question Weapon Finesse

If a monk with weapon finesse attacked with his flurry of blows, would his dex modifier replace his strength modifier for all his blows?

I presume it would do, but I long for clarification...

Yes, Unarmed strikes and natural weapons are considered light and benefit from WF.

Try it with two keen kukri's. That combo is AWESOME.

I'm pretty certain the Monk can Finesse his Off Hand Staff Attacks, just not his Primary Staff Attack (which works with Power Attack).
It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between.

Yes indeed, one end is considered light. (Usually the off-hand end becuase of the penalties)

I think it's always the Off Hand end in the case of Double Weapons.

Gah, I always think the Kukri's a monk weapon. That's not even an Asian word.

Well it is an Asian word, unless Nepal has moved out of Asia.
The Historian: This DM has the history of his world written out millenniums back. It is intricate, complex, and most importantly, incredibly long. Moreover, everything your characters are doing is based on the previous history. It also tends to lead to loudmouth NPCS who will explain hundreds of years of history at a time while the players try to gouge their eardrums out with mechanical pencils.

It does not say directly, but it might very well have been the intend and it will also be optimal thing to do in almost all situations.

The bloody Two Weapon Fighting Rules are notoriously all over the place, but this is what I was thinking of:

    Double Weapons

You can use a double weapon to make an extra attack with the off-hand end of the weapon as if you were fighting with two weapons. The penalties apply as if the off-hand end of the weapon were a light weapon.

Add the Shadow Blade feat from ToB (add Dex bonus as damage to Shadow Hand weapons) and you can ignore STR as a dump stat.

...except for, like, carrying stuff, I guess.

unfortunately your monk doesn't use off-hand attacks in his flurry of blows, even with that quarterstaff, though you can get your extra off-hand attacks with TwF if you take the standard TwF penalties to your entire flurry, though to me it seems silly to bother with finesse for the one weakest blow out of a long chain

edit: though ive always houseruled that the quarterstaff can be finessed, I mean all the coolest quarter-staff fighters are quick guys not big burly fighters.
