Mind if I tweak that to "Tinkertown shopping list"?

Why not. I don't think it's necessary, since the name "Tinkertown" appears in the summary already twice before, just a few lines higher. But it doesn't harm either, so I don't mind.

It's an "Even Evil has Standards" reference (TVTropes warning), alluding to Belkar turning down the gnome's offer to buy him lunch, apparently because he felt bad about basically scamming her out of half the price of the clasp.

I think it is both a reference to Belkar's stated reason for turning down the date (he doesn't like gnomish cuisine) and that despite being Evil there are certain things he can't bring himself to do*. I think it might read better just as "but has standards".

*In other words, it's another way of saying the trope "Even Evil Has Standards"

In another nitpick, I must say I'm not keen on the "standards" remark. I don't recognize the TVtropes reference (I know what TVtropes is but I'm not a fan). And if we take the word at face value, I don't think Belkar has any standards to speak of. At least, it remains to be proven. He suddenly didn't feel like exploiting the kindly gnome woman any further than he already had. That's the most we can say, and he could very well do this or worse to somebody else the next day.

I feel like him turning down the date with the gnome woman, and then stumbling out a line to his cat about "bad enough I was-" indicates some type of reservations there. I originally had a note about him maybe being less evil than before, but I thought that would be too controversial, and this was a more ambiguous phrasing about it.

I don't wanna start a whole Belkar's character development debate, but I feel like that sequence is going to be one of this comic's most memorable parts, and I'd like to have some reference to it. Does anyone have an alternate suggestion?

I read it as "the gnome girl does not meet Belkar's standards", wrong in a different way. I think it's okay to say Belkar seems less evil. He does.

Suggestion: "969: Belkar's search for protection from mental domination shows he's still Evil, despite showing signs of being less so."

I like this one a lot. Perhaps a slight modification:

969: Belkar's search for protection from mental domination shows he's still Evil, despite showing some signs of being less so.

Some strips are rather straightforward to summarize.

I thought of that, but Crystal's name appears just 1 line higher in the list, so I didn't feel a repeat was necessary.

Went with "Crystal" for the sake of people power-skimming.

Spacing issue fixed, and Book 5 spoiler updated with the title of the book.

Perhaps "By the way, Crystal's some sort of innovative golem"?

Or "Bi" if the pun needs to be spelled out.

The "by the way" suggestion amuses me - if there are no objections in a timely-ish fashion, I'll toss it in.

Can't say I like it to be honest. Not sure why. Of course it's a pun in English, so my judgement on it isn't the most qualified. Anyway, I like the summaries to be as crisp and short as possible. Throwing in another few words without information is a step in the wrong direction imo. But if you feel strongly about it, then by all means go ahead, it's not the end of the world.

While this is a great discovery (just found out about it), some strips do need clearer names like #648 should probably have the text "Crystal dies" in it alongside with the current name. Some of these strips were years ago and not remembering a joke, especially one with an odd spelling (Roland 'Itiative) is hard.

Just my 2 cp. And thanks for indexing!
