"I did not sleep well either", he said his smile growing. "I am memorizing my spells to be ready for the day."
Evelyn seemed to be different than most of the other women he had seen since he had left home, confident, exciting and demanding his attention in a manner he was not familiar with and now she was actually talking to him.

"Oh?...I did not peg you for a spellcaster, interesting hehe.."
She stretched again a little in a cat like manner, sitting up and fixed her hair a little. "Mind if I take a gander at your book?" She asked slinking off the two overstuffed chairs. "Actually...I am curious at the process of memorizing spells...do you mind if I watch?" Though before he could blink twice, she was already sitting down next to him, ignoring any personal space bubbles and glanced over him at his spellbook. She faintly smelled of fading sweet perfume.

"Um ... no ... I mean please." Tsalith was clearly tongue tied. He was both excited and afraid in ways never before felt. She smelled delightful. "I hope you won't be bored."

    During the night

Bel'on, unlike most of the party, seems to have little trouble with utilizing the top bunk he has chosen for himself. Laying in deathly still posture as he sleeps, the ninja does not make a sound save for almost imperceptible breathing, his posture tense and guarded even as he rests... And a dagger openly gripped in his hand, with another hidden underneath his pillow. There are some habits he will likely never unlearn.

    ----------------------

    In the morning

His eyes snapping open after he has concluded his rest, the tiefling takes a moment to do some basic stretches and orient himself before placing the daggers back to his boots and lightly hopping down from his bunk, his landing not making a sound. It seems that the rest of the odd fellowship that he now finds himself in have been up and about for some time already, so the ninja decides he might get ready for the day ahead as well: there has been enough resting for him.

Acknowledging the others with small nods, Bel'on maintains his wary posture as he begins to strap his armor of studded leather back on, clearly not at ease until he is both armed and armored. Even if these people have not shown any interesting in attacking or betraying him yet, he is nevertheless on guard: perhaps that has been his default state of being for quite some time now.

Finishing with donning his armor, the tiefling joins Ioriel at the makeshift breakfast, seemingly mulling over recent events as he takes a swig of the rum. "Good morning" he greets the elf simply, pausing momentarily to check that the various blades and other weaponry hidden on his person are still where he generally stashes them. A rapier worn about his waist and crossbow carried on his back add even more options to his already considerable arsenal, trophies from the defeated bandits. "I trust you slept well?"

The thought did cross her mind that she might be, but eh, curiosity. She granted Bel'on a nod of acknowledgment when he awoke and passed, heading out to the dining room, though her eyes may have lingered too long on those arms of his.

"So basically...you just re-read and re-read the spells until they get stuck in your head? Or is it something more to it?"
She questioned as she reached over Tsalith and pointed at whatever spell he had the book opened to.

Tsalith pondered her question a little, finding his thoughts a little muddled by her proximity. "It is more than just memorization in the conventional sense, but it it is similar. One must ... imprint the spell,l in it's totality into the mind. More than just the words and actions, but the intertwining of magical forces. This in not natural and one this imprint is released it is ... forgotten, for lack of a better word" As he gestures his hand accidentally brushes her thigh. Immediately he withdraws his hand. "Sorry."

She let out a lofty laugh. "You're fine." She said patting his hand to indicate so, though really she aimed for getting his almost-hot and bothered-ness up.

    "Anyways...hmmm...interesting....sounds really...difficult too."
She furrowed her brows and stared at the arcane writings, the writings making no sense and generally going over head. It was vastly different from what she did, praying in meditation, asking her goddess to imbue her with magic, less complicated, to her at least.

"So, what is this spell you're trying to..imprint in your mind?"
She asked, gesturing to the page.

Tsalith smiled. "Thank you." He rested his hand on her thigh carefully. "I ... grew up largely alone ... with just my parents. I don't really understand people."
"I am memorizing Shock Shield right now," he gestures to the book with the other hand.

"Ooooh, sounds, electrifying...hahah...oh goodness, that was a terrible joke, ho-hum~"
She eyed his hand, laid so casually on her thigh, it amused her. She was not bothered of course, she was used to men getting touchy feely, it came with the job. She noted that he, well, she knew not the best way to word it, but was essentially, a home schooled, socially inept loner who lived with his parents. This could be interesting, it could make him easier to play with...hmm.

"Hahah...its alright...sometimes even I don't understand people...I mean seriously....once, I saw this one woman buy the world's ugliest dress. Images of house cats embroidered into the material."
She made a flabbergasted expression and shook her head, chuckling. "Sigh."

A waft of bacon hit her nose again.

"Mmm, that is smelling really nice....I could go for some cuts of...meat,"
She said with a smirk. "Would you care to join me in the dining room for some breakfast when you are done with memorizing your spells?"

Ioriel gulps down a mouthful of bacon and nods. "I did. You could say sleep is something of a speciality to me." She smiles and takes another bite, her eyes running over the man in front of her. He really is nice to look at. I am glad I get to spend the whole day with him. Her smile grows wider as she says "A good morning to you. I hope you slept well as well. You look bristling today, I thought we were going to work at a casino, not go out to fight. Though it does look very fitting on you, hopefully it will impress more then just me." Another mouthful of food goes down. "have you thought about what you want to do today? I am not sure I will fit all that well into any of the jobs. Maybe I can learn from you?" she has a hopeful look in her eyes.

"I always sleep well. I was trained to" the tiefling answers simply, beginning to eat the meaty breakfast. "Until our employer gives me new set of clothes, I will be perfectly content with staying armed and armored: it helps me to be at ease. As for what I want to do today, 'my job' is a good contender for that" he says with dry smile. "If there will be time for other things, I am not quite sure... I did not plan to stick around for this long originally."

Seeing that you are the only one to come down stairs, the dwarf grimaces.

"Mornin'," he grunts to you, "I figured the rest would be with ye. Mister Vancaskerkin is meeting with some men at the Publican House and will be out all day, but he left a message for ye. He said that today and tomorrow, we'll just be hiring as many willing-" the wobbling man in front of the desk and several of the front people in line look eagerly at Larur "-and capable-" they all look down again "-men and women to our staff as possible. In the meantime, ye're welcome to do as ye please."

The dwarf glares at the line briefly, tugging on his beard. He shakes his head in bemusement and returns his attention to you.

"I know it's not such a fine day to be out walking Riddleport's streets, but sight seeing is always an option. Ye can also talk to your 'guest' in the other room. Maybe he could make good on one or two of his promises about working for ye? Just a thought..." the dwarf rumbles, glancing casually towards the ghoulette table. His eyes suddenly widen.

"Hey! Get away from there, or you'll-" but it was too late.

One of the younger men who'd been waiting to be interviewed had a hand on the cloth over the head and yanked it off. The head swivels right around, grinning as it takes in the surroundings.

"Whaddawe got here, jocko?! Looks like one fat old gnome with a beard and a court of clowns all awaitin on him!" the head crowed with glee. There was a general chorus of "oooh"s and "ahhh"s. Larur dropped his head into his hands glumly.

"Great," he grunted, "Good luck then, Mister Blackwood. I'll be here if ye need me."

"Yes. Morning, Basil replied gruffly, "I believe some of the others are doing magical preparations and the like. Can't speak for the rest." He looked over the line, many of whom were barely able to stand. Hopefully due to being drunk, rather than being diseased. Basil wasn't eager to catch anything that happened to be going around in this city.

"Yes, the guest. I'll get him up and go do some poking around for information. Good luck with the..." he glanced over the assembled vagrants again, "... Recruitment. I will return later."

With that Basil made his way to his old room in the inn section of the casino, to find Rails. "Get up. We have work to do today."

Rails starts when the door bangs open. He was sitting with his back propped against the wall, legs toward the bed so that he was facing the door when Basil entered.

"Oh, it's you," he says, stifling a wide yawn. Basil can smell his sour body odor from across the room. "Starting me on work already, then, boss? What sorta schemes you got in mind?"

Crossing his arms Basil briefed the bandit on their plans for the day, "Firstly, I've got a bit of shopping to do. I'd like you to direct me to a weapon dealer who has access to alchemical silver weapons. Secondly, we'll be asking around for clues on my brother's whereabouts. Once our business in the city is finished, we'll be acting as guards for the Golden Goblin. Understood?" Taking out Rails' sap, he tossed it across the floor to the man. "We're not going to be killing anyone today, so you'll only need this. Should we happen to encounter zombies in the city for some gods forsaken reason, you can have your short sword at that time."

"I ment which of the position will you fill. He gave us several options. As for your armor I think it suits you." Though anything would probably look good on him. Ioriel thinks as she studies the tiefling. "You have to tell me about your training sometime. No doubt it is quite different from my own" a slight smile comes on her face, she wants to learn more about him.

"Well, I suppose I'll try to run some of the gaming tables: it sounds like something I could possibly manage. I doubt I'd do so well in more complex tasks, though running the bar might work for me. We'll see" Bel'on muses, shrugging as he looks indecisive. "And when it comes to my training, you'll have to excuse me but that is something I'll keep to myself. In fact same would go for my past as well" he finishes somewhat bluntly, clearly not in the mood to discuss about his past (for reasons that are obvious only to him). "Perhaps it is time to go seek out Saul and ask what he needs done in the mornings?"

Of course his insistence on keeping things to himself only makes Ioriel more interested. I'll coax him into telling me some time. But first I obviously need to coax him more to my side. I kinda wish he was more interested in me, but hopefully that will come when I show him qualities he can appreciate. Though how to figure out that? I guess I just have to keep showing interest and he will eventually show me what he wants. The furious thinking activity makes Ioriel look thoughtful as she follows what Bel'on is saying. "Maybe you could teach me about the games? I am a quick learner, I hope. Would be nice to run the tables with you." She starts getting up as she is done with her food. "Maybe we should indeed head over. I am done here."

As they gather together their things she says. "I learned all about sleep from my mother. Sadly she has entered what some call the eternal sleep now. Maybe if she was more interested in getting power to protect herself she would still be..." Tears start forming in Ioriel's eyes, the memory is still fresh to her. "What was your mother like?" She says as they start walking towards the casino.

She took being a distraction as a compliment and just gave him a playful 'who me?' smile as he said that.

"A man of secrets, but, who am I to say really? Heh, I agree with the thought of him being 'okay', and so as long as I get ample pay for my work, then by the gods, that is all I need, hahah."
She chuckled again and brought another forkful of bacon into her mouth and thoughtfully chewed. Her thoughts strayed to her mission for a moment but then returned to the moment.

"So, you said you lived with your mother and father, what prompted you to leave them and come here to Riddleport?"
