    Default Completely awesome birthday cake!

    Hello Playground!

My birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, and my fiance has asked me to choose what sort of cake I would like. I have decided I want a D&D cake, and I want it to be of a famous fight within any of the relevant D&D story settings.

I want all of YOUR help in deciding what famous fight scene she'll be replicating as my cake! Note that she'll be sculpting the environment and using action figures for the characters involved. So, what is YOUR favorite memorable fight scene for a D&D based story?

Please forgive any spelling or grammar mistakes I may make, it is quite difficult to type with a pseudopod.

The one where Drizzt and Artemis Entreri are fighting over a cliff. I completely forget which book that's in though.

Oh, holy jeebas. I just envisioned a 2-foot cube of Jello with little toy skeletons and coins and swords floating in it and a birthday candle on top. You can't have a name like that while asking after D&D desserts, G.Cube!

I think you're referring to The Legacy, though it's been a while here too.

I would make the cake in the shape of the altar on the cover of the 1E Players Handbook, with two figures trying to pry out one of the ruby eyes.

She's actually already been trying to make this work for a while. Every time we meet up for a session she attempts to make a lime Jell-O Gelatinous Cube, and sticks one of our figures in it before hardening. So far, she hasn't been able to make a cube of Jell-o that big hold together yet, but I have faith, and will show it off with pride here on the forums when she does!

If she's willing to make something largely for visuals, there's a type of Asian dessert made from agar-agar that holds together much better than Jello does. To people used to Jello, though, it has a kinda weird texture, and so it might not be as appealing to eat.

Urk. Dragons of Autumn Twilight, but I have no idea what page. It happens when the party has returned to Solace and is about to be taken prisoner, and again later when Tika is accompanying them.

Will show this to her for sure, thanks!

I was going to suggest this if it hadn't already been said. Instead, I'll third this motion.

Has she tried to use the Jello Jigglers water ratio instead of the standard?

I say the cake should be a party of adventurers taking on the dread gazebo.

My family has a tradition of birthday Gelatinous Cube desserts filled with minis, dice, etc. The really big ones are always served in the cube mold (IIRC it was originally an aquarium), because they collapse when removed, but some have gotten up to about 6 inches on a side free-standing.
