Interesting magical item? Song Spheres!

I there! I came up with an idea for a magical item in my Pathfinder game, which I think might be quite fun. I thought to share it, and see what you folks can do with it, what sort of ideas, and what sort of tracks (Will be explained)

The idea is that bardic music can be contained, somewhat liek a potion contains spells. The song spheres are crystaline spheres, that hold magical music (Be it bardic performance or whatever is suitable for your system and campaign). If crushed, the song is released, and it's effects are made real for a certain time.

But, when you activate the song sphere, you (DM or player) needs to play out the song in the sphere, as appropriate. Some groups may have the time of the spehre measured in the world's time units, other can just make it till the end of the song, or such.

I think it could bring a fresh spirit to a session. What do you think?

That's pretty cool, though if you make it last until the end of the song it will probably last less than twelve seconds in game

Great minds think alike - I have also come up with something similar.
I also fiddled with something like a magical comlink to allow a bard to sing into a transmitter hooked up to individual earpiece receivers to allow the bonus of bard music without noise and greatly increased distance.

And for Inspire Courage, there really isn't anything to top this (never mind that it might be hard for a one-man band to pull it off).

Ten minutes is actually a pretty decent duration in-game, it's next to guaranteed to last for the encounter and unlikely to last over multiple encounters.
