Google "d&d equipment handbook." You should get a lot of useful guides. Shax's Handy Haversack is an example of a good generic equipment guide.Jon Snow and Ghost avatar (not currently in use) by Gurgleflep 15370262 328.

Re: Best Rogue Equipment
These items intrigue me due to the existential crisis that they will inspire in the rogue who acquires them. If a rogue, whose life acquires meaning through hiding, backstabbing, and stealing, were to obtain items which made these activities useless, then that rogue would come face to face with the realization that his/her life is fundamentally without true meaning. Those actions by which the rogue had previously defined himself/herself no longer exist, and he/she will encounter nothing more or less than the Absurdity of the human condition.

Re: Best Rogue Equipment
Woe truly is the poor burg'lar who finds such treasures, for no matter how high he might roll, only the hangman's noose might free him from this trap so deviously sprung!
Also, if we're talking about PF, I'll include the Mask of Stony Demeanor (500gp, +10 bluff to lie), Mummer's Ruff (3500gp, +10 bluff while mimicking voices), Sleeves of many garments, and Hat of Disguise.
