Our motivation is to find the missing box (we receive 100 EXP) and to find the identity of the mysterious rider. (ohhh spooky, also 100) I know Dachald everyone else can decide about themselves.

In the solo adventure the merchant (traevus) tasked us with returning his stolen box (stolen by the goblins who inhabit this dungeon) we started the cave but realized it would be too tough to tackle alone so we gathered to try and take it on together. As for the party... Gertrude is used to adventuring with a dwarf so Tormek is a good fit for her. Having grown up in a tavern her whole life, Gertrude would totally see the awesomeness of adventuring with a Bard (if only for the great campfire songs). You can never go wrong a with a stalwart Dragonborn! The kobold is the only oddity but, then again, a life of adventure is rarely stereotypical (plus, imagine the stories a 75 year old being possesses).

Kefka is kind similar to Gertrude.

He is accostumed with dwarfs and humans, probably the two races that he spend most time with (due to his "tavern life style"). Dragonborn are a bit more unfamiliar to him, but he never had any problem with them. The Kolbolt on the other hand, Kefka was taught to never trust kolbolts and goblins by his father, but because Kefka is really open-mind about the world he will let the experience prove if his father's words were true or not!

Tormek distrusts goblins, COMPLETELY. They killed his mentor ("him") as I keep mentioning. He also has been in several adventuring parties and has a wisdom beyond his years (his thinking and speech sometimes show that). He is a fan of dragonborns as his best friend Joe was one. Kobolds aren't that bad he is actually somewhat interested in this one having her background be in the mines, him being a dwarf, connection anyone?

Gertrude hates thieves, cut purses and those kinds of folk. She also has mixed feelings about Cultists. On the one hand they are usually super evil but on the other, they did kill the man who murdered her husband, so they aren't all bad (right?). Evil killing evil is still a +1 for team good!

She doesn't have much experience with Goblins but has heard the tales of those nasty villains from her years at the inn.

I agree this is going better than I expected! Also, DM I believe everyone is ready as they have posted so you can let us keep talking or start the encounter!

The goblin lair was too much for just one of you to handle, but there's strength in numbers. Now your group is ready to handle the goblin menace and retrieve the merchant's stolen box. We are heading to a cave that leads to a dungeon in which the goblins and other creatures live. It is also where the merchants' box is. Also, that's great about your cat coming back, but bad that it's injured.
