Favorite Class
Hey guys. I'm wondering, what's everybody's favorite class? Why? Mine is the ranger. If for no other reason that I'm nostalgic for it being the first class I ever made (my character was sssmarter than the avaridge gnoll) their just so bad ass. Swinging two swords, filling things full of arrows, being strikers. The only problem is, their not very good, but meh. Bard has been giving it a run for its money though. What about you guys? And as always, go nuts.

Re: Favorite Class
What system is this supposed to be for?
I would really like to see a game made by Obryn, Kurald Galain, and Knaight from these forums.
I'm not joking one bit. I would buy the hell out of that. -- ChubbyRain

Re: Favorite Class
There are a lot of options here. At the edge of the "class" concept but within archetype based design, the Mouseguard Apiarist. You keep bees. Lots of bees. That doesn't sound like much, but given that you are mice bees are big, potentially terrifying creatures. Of which you keep a hive.

Re: Favorite Class
For 3.5e, it's the wizard.
For 4e, it's the Barbarian. One of the two times I've gotten to play instead of DM, I played a Gnoll Rageblood Barbarian. Had a blastRed Mage avatar by Aedilred.

Re: Favorite Class
In 3.5 I've probably had the most fun with bard. Although I once had a pretty epic gnome paladin

Typically whatever is the nerd class. Whatever allows me to substitute reading source books in place of interacting with NPCs is fine by me.

Re: Favorite Class
DnD 3.5: Warlock. At level 12 it can do just about anything, it can be role played in many many ways, and endurance is it's middle name.
PF: Tattooed Sorcerer, such juicy fluff, such nice crunch.
Heroes: Teleporter [not a real class, just general point build]. Sure, you become the parties horse/main mode of transport, but I'm a fantasy fighter bomber, so suck it.
Fallout: 10 Int with Educated. I am better then you at your specializations. Because I get ALL the skill points.
Mass Effect: Infiltrator for coolness, especially with biotic abilities.
Demons Souls: Knight. Easy to tweak to get all the things very easily. Comes with plate to slowly equip for fast rolling.
And that's all off the top of my head.

Re: Favorite Class
I play a lot of stealth games and I really enjoy playing a rogue.
On the other hand, as a bard I can annoy people with my singing in-character.
I find it hard to choose...

Re: Favorite Class
I have a weak spot for Bards and Monks. I wish I knew why. For some reason, I come up with my favorite backstories for them...and I enjoy the challenge of making them party assets.

Re: Favorite Class
I'm a big fan of martial healers.
Why? Because I like to tank and like to be the defender. I like being the one that people can rely on the pull their fat out of the fire. I also like being capable of surviving such actions and patching myself up afterwards.SpoilerThank you to zimmerwald1915 for the Gustave avatar.

Re: Favorite Class
I'm usually the rougish guy in the group. I like Rogues, Rangers, and Scouts. Above all else, I HATE mages, though I'll settle for divine spellcasters if need be.
Honestly though, if it's not a pure spellcaster, I'll dabble into just about anything.
I briefly played the 40k RPGs (I doubt I ever will again, however) and when I played those I usually played the Tech-y guys (Tech Marine, Tech Priest, ect)

I primarily play PF so I'll go with...Inquisitor, probably.
I like religious stuff in games, but clerics feel a bit bland. Being the badass Batman of whatever God I choose hits me right in the flavour balls.

At least it would be weak to Fairy, plus you could just burn/poison it and laugh.

Re: Favorite Class
Probably the Beguiler from 3.5. It's extremely well designed, being very powerful in their niche, but still useful outside of it, they fill a party role that doesn't have many good options, and allows you to play an illusionist/enchanting focused character without feeling like you're playing the class wrong.
In fact I love all three of the specialist sorcerer varients(beguiler, war mage, and dread necromancer), though the later two in more of a conceptual way than an execution way.
As for none D&D/d20, I'm going to have to go with Tamori Shugenja from Legend of the Five Rings. They make potion making bad ass."Sometimes, we’re heroes. Sometimes, we shoot other people right in the face for money."
