I do think V's villain speeches were excellent, they should be proud of them.

I think it's neat how many of the OOTS characters have had moments of villainy, each for completely understandable reasons, and they're all getting razzed by the guy who's actually a villain at heart for the quality of their villainous speeches.

Awesome panel with the Calder and Bloodfeast biting each other too! Getting the perspective on that must have been quite the trick!

Funny how Durkon has to argue it wasn't him when Belkar had actually be saying that from the start.

Calder is just giving the draconic version of Bender's "This is the worst kind of discrimination: the kind against me" bit.

    And i love it.

Roy may want to wrap things up but I'm happy if this fight goes on forever. If the rest of the run of OotS is just this fight playing out, I'll be a delighted reader. Literally everything about it is awesome.

Belkar and Roy inflict more damage with their words than the entire Order with their strikes.
    That is brutal.

*glares at Calder and taps watch*

We'll need at least 3 more strips for Calder to gain the upper hand somehow (or threaten a major character's life), things to look briefly bleak, and then the paladins swoop in for the elaborate turnaround that convinces Serini that they have the snuff.

Wasn't that clear from the moment we learned that he had a cult worship him? That's the kind of nonsense I would do, not anyone well adjusted.

Enjoying the fight, but Calder's strategy of "damage tank a bunch of high level adventurers and a dinosaur" is a little less than I was expecting from him, tactics wise.

Poor Calder, being a filler villain sure is tough.

Though, still a good villain, and a really good fight. I'm loving Bloodfest and Belkar!

He's stuck in a small (to him) room. There's only so much tactics he can throw around.

Personally I'm betting that the Order's going to destroy Calder's corpse specifically to prevent him from getting a dragon zombie like he did during the siege.

It's not like he has a better choice. Fire and cold are pretty bad at destroying objects, and any rounds he spends breaking down the wall is a round that the Order can use to do more damage. And it seems likely that this dungeon is also made of multidimensional stone that prevents teleporting through it. If he even has spells like that.

    Edit: damnit, swordsage'd.

Was this the first time Serini contributed to the fight?

His tactical acumen is actually pretty good, it's not his fault that everyone is prepared with ways to counteract them due to being high level Adventurers. Had he been able to dominate Roy that would have turned to the battle around entirely, and he managed to disable Roy and the V at the same time using a dominated B*h*ld*r.

It's hardly bad tactical sense not to expect that someone would be carrying around a polymorphed allosaurus in their pocket for this exact situation. And he managed to counteract -that- too, with only the resources he had at claw.
