Texas Hold'em: Table 1
Greetings all, and a hearty welcome to the Casino in the Playground.
Assembled here tonight are characters from all over the world, come to test their skill at this most worthy of pastimes.
The stakes... well not much at all really, but maybe some bragging rights at the end.
Most important is to play fair, and have fun (This is SMBG after all)
Seeing as, our Leprachaun friend has kindly allocated the seating will you please take your places and we can begin.
With no further ado evnafets dextrously pulls a pack of cards out from his sleeve, triple ruffle shuffles, and sends cards flying in every direction which somehow manage to end up all face down in front of the correct players.
Death, Destro, you guys are submitting the small and big blinds respectively.
Play is around to the cube o' doom. Are you in? Raising? Or are you going to fold like a trembling bowl of jelly?
Minimum of 8 required to stay in.
Note: if anyone has NOT yet received a PM from me, kindly let me know and I'll resend it.

((So, I am a tad shaky on these rules. I just put in 4 chips? And then wait for other cards t be shown?
....If anyone has a link to the rules as we are playing it here (the rules variations get me) I would be forever, well, for a day, thankful.

Re: Texas Hold'em: Table 1
Small suggestion: I've send my action for this round to evnafets already and would encourage you to do so as well. No pressure on evnafets but he will be updating this thread anyway and could insert stuff when we are not around.

Re: Texas Hold'em: Table 1
PM me your action in advance if you really want to.
But keep checking just in case I'm not around.
Actually, I'd hope you don't have to wait on me too much.
I'm mainly here to deal out cards as necessary.
If your bid is up, you don't have to wait for me to call on you.
Oh and Death, everyone has to contribute 2 chips to the pot to play a round.
You also had to add in 4 this round as a "blind bid", hence your contribution is currently 6.Check out past werewolf games at the Unofficial GiantITP werewolf archive

Re: Texas Hold'em: Table 1
Ok, so I add in the extra to as well as the halfling seer (get it? Small Blind?).
Then I wait till you reveal a few cards and then I state how much I will increase my bet?

Re: Texas Hold'em: Table 1
Not quite...
Firstly, we continue to call, bet and raise until everyone, who is still in the game, has contributed an equal amount of chips.
Then, the flop (three cards) is revealed, which is followed by another round of calling betting and raising until everyone has contributed equally or left.
You can raise the stakes even before the flop is revealed. Just wait until it is your turn, then increase the bet.

Re: Texas Hold'em: Table 1
Supagoof walks up to the table. You can hear a jingle from his stirrups as he takes his seat. In his hand, a small glass of scotch. In his mouth, a cigar, half smoked. He flops in his two chips even before looking at his cards. As he does, a smile comes across his face, as he sets them down awaiting for the two preceeding him to make their bids. Glancing around the table, he sees the others.
Castaras - her reputation as one of the finest females in poker proceeds her, if luck was indeed a lady, then those two knew each other well
Silkenfest - the monk with the zen ability to tell what is and isn't a good hand. His innate ability to fold when he was beat has puzzled the pro's for years.
Death - more often then not, this opponent has been seen at the table giving the off-suit duece/seven combo, which many a fool has drawn upon, not realizing they were playing with the dead man's hand, sure he claims to be your friend the reaper, but where was he when someone was drawing dead?
Destro - there's something fishy about this player, Supagoof hadn't spotted it yet, but his gut told him so. Maybe it ws the shifty eyes...
The purple gelatinous cube o' Doom - how he played is anyone's guess, Supagoof just hopes that the dealer cleans the cards off every shuffle, less they be marked with jelly for cheatin' later
and finally
Malmagor Andrigal - known for his luck on the river.
Such a crowd would be tough competition. Supagoof would have to be careful with his tells, as he quickly disolves the smile from his face.
He spots the casino security Alarra, making her appearance known so no one cheats. This wouldn't be like playing in the old west, but the pistol in his boots was there just in case.
"Howdy boys, ma'am" he says, nodding to each of them in greeting. Taking a slow, long drawn out puff on his cigar, he asks "Feeling lucky tonight?"
((v Doh! Fixed!))

Re: Texas Hold'em: Table 1
Supagoof has Called. (via earlier PM)
Play continues to Castaras.
It'll cost you 8 to stay in.
You can raise the bid if you think you have an awesomtastic hand.
Or you can just fold if you don't.Last edited by evnafets; 2007-02-14 at 07:10 PM.

Re: Texas Hold'em: Table 1
pbbbbbst!
I got a "raise" for you. *looks at hand*
Now let's see a flop!
edit: Doh, sorry Destro. I forgot about the big blind option, and may have prevoked the flop before you had a chance.
For others, the option allows the big blind, if a raise hasn't been made (which it hadn't, we all just matched the big blind), to either check (since he was pre-emptively matched to stay in) or raise. Since the big blind has to put in the 10 chips (ante plus blind) every time, it allow them to manuaver just as we could by raising pre-flop.

Re: Texas Hold'em: Table 1
Alrighty then!
Bring on the entertainment!
Lights dim, and a spotlight appears arround evnafets, who is suddenly dressed in Tux, and is holding a large microphone:
Presenting Celine Dion & Engelbert Humperdinck singing all your old favorites....
whats that?
Oh, the cards.
The Flop:
King of Spades
Six of Spades
Queen of Hearts
The grim reaper of souls (and bad puns) has the first bid.Last edited by evnafets; 2007-02-15 at 04:51 PM.

Re: Texas Hold'em: Table 1
Well, I don't need massive intelligence to know this is a good hand.
*Death bids 10 on the painting, while then turning and using his poker face. After all, he spent a few millennium practicing it.*
