I'm actually working on adding blocks to show the RP of the akashic races for the next update. I'm still sorting it out, but I figure the suqur and gamla will have similar RP to the strix, while the sobek will come in a smidge lower.

    **EDIT**

I have been informed that due to the unreliable and inconsistent nature of the ARG race point system, DSP has chosen to avoid going there with our new products (a decision I totally get).

If you need those numbers for a game or your group uses that system, here's an unofficially official breakdown:

    Gamla:
    Standard Stats - 0 rp
    Large Size - 7 rp
    Desert Strider - 1 rp
    Endurance - 1 rp
    Essence Pool - 4 rp
    Undersized Weapons - -3 rp
    Spit - 1 rp
    Total = 11 rp

    Sobek:
    Standard Stats - 0 rp
    Slow - -1 rp
    Water adaptation - 1 rp
    Camouflage - 1 rp
    Bite - 1 rp
    Sweeping Tail - 1 rp
    Essence Pool - 4 rp
    Total = 7 rp

    Suqur:
    Standard Stats - 0 rp
    Slow - -1 rp
    Glide - 4 rp
    Talons - 1 rp
    Falcon Blood - 4 rp
    Essence Pool - 4 rp
    Total = 12 rp

Note that I valued that essence pool very highly; I think that's fair since essence value can fluctuate greatly depending upon how much of your build can utilize it. I also didn't mark the investable abilities up due to their scaling nature; that's accounted for in the essence pool.

Also, because of you mentioning sentai in another thread, I just noticed that veils aren't properly visible till you put essence in them. That makes walking down the street without looking magic as hell so much easier.

I'd imagine the average Daevic would look very intense if all their veils had essence in the middle of town. Imagine a Wrath Daevic:

You have: big dragon wings, claws, talons, bull horns, and possibly other large hurty bits coming out of you and glowing. Fun times right? I'd imagine any villager would look rightly terrified.

Try being the vizier with the band of utter darkness writhing around your finger while you try to tell the townsfolk you have no idea whose cairn wight that is.

But yeah, I made sure there was an unobtrusive mode available :)

For every evil vizier, there is a good vizier who uses polar snowshoes to provide safe food storage to his village.

Is the Pharaoh still being worked on? Are you open to suggestions?

I'd like to see a 'Banner', 'Crown', 'Caste Mark(from Exalted)' Chakra point that not only can you bind pharaoh specific abilities to, that sort of work like the 4th edition battle standard or Paladin auras, but also let the world know that you're the god damn Pharaoh. Although in retrospect the 4th edition banners were kinda bad, which was a shame since they were so flavorful.

I also wasn't a fan of the scarab and having the class features be integrated into it. It feels (to me) that you're dependent on your familiar, which kind of goes against the mental image of a Pharaoh (or at least mine) being reliant on anything but himself.

I think I mentioned it a bit earlier, but yeah, Pharaoh is still on the way. The scarab is now just one of three options; there will also be a rod and mask option to pick from.

I love that picture by the way. Who's the artist? Is that from something?

It's Azir from League of Legends. He's a notPharaoh from notEgypt that has been dead for quite a while and is seeking to rebuild his empire. His kit revolves around summoning sand soldiers and commanding them to attack in his place.

http://youtu.be/zqH4AA-KEgQ is the release video so you can see a bit of him in action.

    That's an incredibly entertaining thought.

On another note, Guru should drop either today or tomorrow. I may have hurt the chances of it being today a little bit because I didn't see Jeremy's request asking me for a product tagline yesterday until about 12 hours after he sent it.

I just let Jeremy know that on page 20 "Diadem of Pure Reflection" somehow turned into "Diadem of Pure Reflech". So, we're gonna fix that :P

The Diadem of Pure Reflech sounds like it helps subdue a gastric problem. Sounds like a very useful veil to have when forced to endure your fellow adventurer's cooking.

Anyway, I am glad the Guru has finally been released! Time to look at all the pretty art within it.

SO I JUST REALISED that to an extent Cursed Razor and Eternal Guardian would fit with Pharaoh's theme. I mean, you're ALWAYS hearing about ancient egyptian curses, right? (But then, it's hard to deny that Golden Lion, Solar Wind, and Scarlet Throne don't fit the theme perfectly as well. DAMN.)

EDIT: In particular, given their tanking role, Eternal Guardian has curses, fits with the whole tomb-guardian kind of thing, and is all kindsa tanky. THREE FOR THREE.

Well with that trait to trade out the disciplines, you can have a very curse focused Pharoah.

Though I am more interested in how the pharoah will utilize essence. As cool as initiating is, akashic magic is probably going to be the star of the show.

I suggested eternal guardian for the pharaoh in the thread on DSPs site, I believe it's under consideration.

The pending update is to have a way to boost the swarm master's essence cap for pestilence cloak.

At the moment, only possible with a +3 Essence item on the slot.

    New topic, new post.

Starting the editing read-through, so far all I found has been a couple of "UM" notes not getting the superscript (two in the Vayist proficiencies alone). Will continue as I get time

Here's what I've already reported to Jeremy so we can fix it:

On page 5, the Sever the Flow ability isn't in bold.
On page 7, under the Sineater's proficiencies, the non-core weapons aren't sourced, unlike the other two. The mancatcher is from the Advanced Player's Guide, the bo staff, dan bong, sibat, and tonfa are from Ultimate Combat, and the snag net is from the Advanced Race Guide.
On page 9, under the Vayist philosophy's proficiencies, the kyoketsu shoge and the rope dart's sources aren't in superscript.
On page 18, on the veil table, the Gloves of the Master Thief are spelled 'Gloves of the Master Theif'.
Diadem of Pure Reflection's stat block says "Diadem of Pure Reflech".

How would being interrupted when casting veils longer than a standard action be handled? For, say, ditchdigger's armlets which is a full round action, I assume look at concentration checks, but they require a spell level. What's the spell level of say the armlets?

Full round action isn't any different in interrupting from standard one, result still happens on your turn.

I Always thought full round action casting time meant your casting until just before your next turn. Nice for that to be proven wrong then.

I found only two things that might be glitches.

The Nisr's carrion eater trait does not replace any racial traits.

I don't know if the Nameer were meant to keep sweeping tail, but they kept it.

Carrion Eater should replace Falcon Blood; I've updated that in the doc. Sweeping Tail seemed like a cool option for the Nameer, so I left it. If people think it's weird, I can re-evaluate it, but they do have tails and the image of a tiger man laying into his enemies with his claws and then hooking a sneaking opponent's legs out from under him with his tail seemed awesome.

Several alternates break the usual pattern of giving bonuses to a physical and a mental stat rather than giving two to one or the other. I know there are exceptions, but it still stands out. So do the +4 bonuses, especially to intelligence. The dex and con hits would still hurt anyone likely to need the int, but still...
