    Default The tavern game

It is very common for adventures to meet for the first time in a tavern and most of the time the DM has to create a funny name for it normally an animal doing something like "The singing dragon" or something like that.
So that is the point of the game try to come up with the funniest name for a tavern in a fantasy game.

Ever since I read a few of the Thieves' World books, I've had a soft spot for the tavern called 'The Vulgar Unicorn'.

Well, in our campaigns we always had the choice between three (which happened to be in every city...):

"Stabbing Piglets". A "buffet" in which you grab a stake, and... well... "we're always closer" is their slogan.

"The Lute & Bagpipe", the whole tavern is run by one man, who simultaneously plays the lute, the bagpipe, and serves everyone in the tavern (with no extra appendages).

Then there's always good old Grogface's Tavern. Outside stands a wooden sign with "Fun for the Whole Family since 1452" written in blood. Grogface makes you buy his grog, and if you don't, he'll shoot you with a "grogbolt" or call in the brawlers.

We didn't always have very serious campaigns, as you can imagine.
