While the DM's away ...
I haven't been able to run my PBM campaign for about 3 weeks, and I emailed my players today to say sorry. One of them wrote back, and I thought I would share it with you since I think it is funny:
[quick guide: Grotisle = Mordor, Blithlargef = Elder Ones, led by Cthulhu & Nyarlathotep, Gyken = campaign world]
No worries. Actually, Mike and I have been playing without you.
While you were busy, Sselon and Baric managed to single-handedly
storm the castle at Grotisle and cleanse it of evil forever. We then
invaded Vecna's demiplane and gave him a toy choo-choo train, after
which his heart of ice melted and he became good. With the last gasp
of his former power, he vaporized the Blithlargef fleet and saved
Gyken. Meanwhile, Traxed snuck into Cthulu's lair and removed his
teeth while he was sleeping. The now harmless evil god attended our
victory Christmas party and placed a star atop the tree, to general
applause. We awarded ourselves 1 million XP each and advanced to
Divine status.

Was this after they tamed the Tarrasque as a house pet?
