I made my Spot and Listen rolls in the last thread.
Before I start dispensing receipts for the party's purchases, do warforged components count as equipment, or as components? Once again, Nivali Decimal System Woes. why am I such a nerrrrd?

Not necessary. Dragons keep these things for beauty and consumption. Not for it's merchant value.

Hm, has anyone seen Keledrath lately? S/He used to be on so often, and now, not at all. I'm planning for my character to mention d'Cannith soon outside of a hostile context, and don't want Spikey to miss it.

So folks, I had an idea for Endbringer...

It occurred to me recently (and I know this may sound odd considering that this was the concept to begin with) that Endbringer is not just a weapon. The entity inside of this ancient blade has really become not only a character in this story, but perhaps it's most important one. Thus, as a story-teller (not as a DM, per say) I feel compelled to give Endbringer "character growth," and, in doing so, give Endbringer abilities that exhibit that.

My idea: to give Endbringer his own turn in combat, so that he may cast spell-like abilities according to his "spell level."

What I had in mind is rather unorthodox according to enchantment rules, as I kind of didn't keep them in mind when coming up with this idea. Here's what I had in mind...

    Lvl1 Divine Favor(at will) True Strike(3/day)

    Lvl 2 Bull's Strength(at will) Baleful Transposition(2/day)

Lvl 3 Heroism(at will) Magic Circle against Evil(1/day)

More spells ansd casting times per day will increase when Endbringer's "spell level" does.

Downside (and Pre mentioned this to me and he actually has a good point) is that these abilities I mentioned sends Endbringer's enchantment level straight into the heavens. As I stated, I didn't keep the enchantment rules in mind when I thought this up.

Is anyone alright with this arrangement?

And if not, does anyone have a suggestion for me that way I can at least keep the spirit of what I want to do alive?

Assuming the True Strike goes to Halberd and not to Endbringer (as it officially would), I don't really have an objection. Though maybe have Endbringer simply go before Halberd, since most of the SLAs seem to be buffs to the wielder.

In other news: Sorry for vanishing. Over the weekend, some of my friends got me onto World of Warcrack, and that consumed my weekend. However, now that I have torn myself away, I should be able to post more. Oh, and we also had parties because one guy had his girlfriend and brother up for the weekend. So board games (Munchkin, Lords of Vegas, Resistance, and Shadows Over Camelot) abounded.

Welcome back, Kel. Chronocharms explicitly work with other Chronocharms. We could rule that they stack with throat items in general.

Also, I have to object to the sheer number of spells that list would give Endbringer. He'd be buffing better than all us casters combined. Maybe tone it down to just the 1st level spells for now? Or limit the effects to single round duration?

I would actually say limit it to Halberd only for a target (technically wielder, and requiring that the target continue wielding Endbringer). Bear in mind that currently EB would have 6 spells, 3 of which have x/day limits

I might normally agree with you Oneris, but Prehys rolled REALLY low stats. As in total modifiers of +5. Spiker has that just from Con. He deserves some buff ups.

Wow, you're right. I've been operating under extremely false assumptions for a really long time.
I also just noticed that Spiker is both taller and heavier than Halberd, whom I assumed was a humongous warforged juggernaut-thing. Maybe she's just really dense, mithral armor notwithstanding.

Edit: I also noticed I screwed up the numbering system for dating the gold pieces, thereby ruining the Y1K problem joke. Dammit. I'll fix it in the morning.

I also just realized the unclaimed item I would want is a bloody necklace. Why must all good things be in the same slot?

Oh well. Also, Grave, just an FYI, until further notice I have +2 Deflection to AC vs Evil because of my Lammasu Mantle, bringing me to 20.

I've personally been viewing it as the Incarnum having weight. Technically it doesn't, but I like the addition of that for Totemist.

And yeah, Spiker is almost as strong as Halberd, despite being a second line fighter. And given that I'm the closest thing we have to a second frontliner, I have no objections to the primary frontliner getting fun things

Actually, looking through the party, we have
    Halberd: Front Line Melee
Spiker: Primarily short ranged fighter, can melee (especially with warning so I can switch up my melds)
    Briar: Support casting (BFC, buffs, debuffs);
    Kalim: Skillmonkey, consumable based combat
    Oren: Mid-Long Range combat
Malvin (should he return): Support casting (buffs, BFC)
Lukon: Not entirely sure, but looks like a buff-caster. Also medic
Laucion: Research and Development (makes gear, medic for warforged)
Nivali: Buff/Utility caster, as far as I can tell.
I follow a general rule: better to ask and be told no than not to ask at all.

so, what you're telling me is, we've got 3 or 4 support casters? out of nine people?
wow, at least 1/3 of our party can buff the rest, that's really something else

Well, you're telling me we have nine people.

Somehow that hadn't flagged in my mind.

And actually, as far as I can tell we have
1 and a half Melee (Halberd, with Spiker being a half)
    2 Ranged (Oren and Spiker)
1 skill (Kalim, possibly half role for Nivali and Laucion)
5 support casters (Nivali, Briar, Malvin, Lukon, and Laucion)

You forgot Briar's eagles. That should at least bump him up to...back up Ranged?

Nivali's a strict support caster right now because she's a technical pacifist, to the point where she had no direct damage dealing spells. Break her out of that by the time she hits level 9 though, and she'll throw down more spontaneous Fell Drains/Weakens than you can shake a puppy at (about 5 or 6 before the puppy gets annoyed and bites)

*looks at IC and Battle Map*

Oh crap, undead. The one thing that is pretty much flat out immune to everything she has.

Grave, can you try indicating the elevation of the gold blocks?

Recolored it a bit: Lighter gray is a 5 foot slant, lightest gray is 10 ft. It levels off where the Herald stands.

Hm, can I hit both Kalim and Oren in their current positions with a Haste spell? I kinda forgot whether the character squares were counted in the measurement.

There's also a scroll spell I want to use in a terribly unorthodox manner, but I also want to learn it so I can cast it normally in an even more unorthodox manner. Grave, can you rule on it now so I won't fret about it later?

Dark Way is a spell that creates a 5ft wide, 1 inch thick bridge of shadows that's 20ft/level. It explicitly can be at any angle. How about 90 degrees perpendicular to the floor, curving between walls, for an instant 5ft tall barrier? If that's allowed, how much can it curve?

Also, try to identify/remember anything about Herald/the undead.

That was the idea behind these SLA's. The sword buffs the wielder, but only so long as the wielder holds the blade. If Endbringer isn't in both of his hands, he can't use the abilities.

And don't worry. I've talked with Grave, and we will never see anything like "Endbringer casts Fireball".

Laucian: Healer and Secondary ranged damage (Cull wand essence ftw)

Yas, I really appreciate the sentiment, but doesn't Constant Guardian have a 10ft range?

Edit: Oh wait, you moved. The map didn't update, sorry. And now you're within range of my haste spell.
