Aww! Poor Belkar! Forced to undergo character development!

    ;)

I know I'm stealing this from someone else. But it's SO FUNNY

    Zweisteine quoting Razanir:

"I am a human sixtyfourthling! Fear my minimal halfling ancestry!"

    From: Razanir

Bagnold could be one sixty-fourth halfling.

Is it accurate to say Belkar has been acting as if he were in a video game? At this point I would've quoted the post detailing how Belkar is 'indifferent evil', and distinct from the villians in the story, but I can't find it...

Sounds like Belkar's starting to realise how he's in story where his actions and evil-ness matter more, and trying to shift accordingly.

Personally, I think Belkar's slow character growth is a result of him starting to actually play the game more than anything else. My 2 cp.

I don't think lightsabers are much of a stretch here.

I've been away from the forum for a while and perhaps I've missed the info about it, but why do new comics appear so rarely? This one came out 2.5 weeks ago... Do they come out monthly now?
Common sense is not so common.

There is no schedule. The first rule of talking about the schedule is you don't talk about the schedule. There is no schedule.

Pretty much. The comics are a blessing and we just thank the skies when they
    come.

    *shrug*
It's like they say where I come from:

"Não quer brincar, não desce pro Play." - "If you don't wanna play, don't come down to the Playground."

: "Make peace with your god."
    : "I can't! He's in my pocket!"

According to the thread rules, you are not supposed to discuss the time it takes to post comics. You may want to scrub your post before you get a warning.

Use it for the purpose he wanted it for and suck up the no-actual-mechanical-penalties pain.

(It is unfortunate for Belkar that he doesn't know Protection from any Alignment would protect him from mind control regardless of the controller's alignment, but he might have trouble getting an at-will Protection from Good/Protection from Law item anyway, in a settlement where the merchants treat "of course you're not evil" as something to assume.)

A tacit acknowledgement that the by-the-book diplomacy rules are sufficiently unbalanced and unrealistic that telling a player "this happened to your character" is insulting in a way telling the same player "your character's face just got melted by an acid arrow" is not.

Dear me, I thought you'd asked why a common reaction to a D&D rule existed, and now you appear to be defending a personal house rule of yours from perceived criticism.

I'm a bit confused. The only "personal house rule" you could read into that is the option to opt out of the D&D rule which you yourself admit exists. And the impression I've gotten from your writing is that you would also house rule this to not be a thing. Dear me, I thought you were debating a point, and now you appear to be argumentative simply for its own sake.

The unholy amazing writing skill of Burlew made me feel dirty inside, for I SHIPPED Belkar and the cute Gnome Merchant girl.

    Well-played, Giant.

You can be damn sure I won't let ☠☠☠☠ like that happen again.
