    Brilliant.

Orange you glad you decided to invade?

It must have been hard to let all those (living) hobgoblins pass without some eye-stabbing.

Doesn't animating the dead cost like 50 GP in onyx gems apiece (drop class levels, doubles the HD, 25 per HD)? Wow, I wonder how much the Onyx demand has driven up the price (which would ironically make the stuff less heavy since is costs more, and the only requirement is 25 GP of Onyx per HD).

Also, Animating dead in the middle of combat isn't that great an idea, since it requires you to have placed the gem in their mouths beforehand (so does that mean every hobgoblin has a gem in its mouth?)

It was already dead when he "killed" it. It was a zombie hobgoblin.

Something tells me that Redcloak has made a poor strategical decision, seeing as Belkar will be able to do more damage against all the zombies that will be created...

Until then, however, he'll be fine waiting patiently for the zombies that occasionally come over the wall, preparing to use his "Stab Undead" power.

That isn't a hobgoblin he killed, it's a ghoul (or ghast). It was already green before he killed it, therefore.
Congratulations, you can link to TV Tropes. This does not mean you have special insight into the storytelling process, much less the author's mind. Stories don't need to fit into neat boxes, you know.

The 'green and dead' hobgoblin would be some sort of undead I don't really know the exact name of, since he can't harm any living (and undead are undead, not living.) creature with lethal damage within the city, thingy, something.

That's probably a yes, since that would inflict lethal damage to a living creature withing the mark's area of effect.

I was wondering what Belkar would be doing the whole battle...

Fun little comic and I like Redcloak more each comic he's in. And Elan is always fun when he's somewhat competent.

The death totals for each side are rising, but moreso for the bad guys. Not that we're so worried about that. And like Roy said, unless a "Thriller" video comes on, the zombies won't do much more than shuffle around. Unless the clerics are high enough level to creat ghouls instead of zombies.

Belkar is awesome. And it looks like the mystery convict is at least a level 8 rogue with Rapid Shot. Those zombies are going to be trouble, though... 25 GP each is pretty affordable for even a few thousand of them. Better start shooting some clerics.
