Looks like Sabine has 3 less arrows to worry about.

Also, I was wondering for a moment while I saw 973 "Try Try Again", clicked on on it and saw 972's comic. Then a minute or two later, tried again and saw the new one. ^^ Saw the new comic in the same minute it came out. Such wonderful timing. ^^

Apparently Haley doesn't have particularly good ranks in Knowledge(Arcana) to have identified a flesh golem but still try to use a wand that SR applies to against it.

Crystal has gotten a major upgrade to be able to dodge three point blank arrow shots. Hopefully Crystal will be so focused on Haley that Haley can kite her around town until backup arrives.

Psssst! Sometimes, characters take suboptimal actions in the comic for the express purpose of showing less D&D-familiar readers that a certain tactic is useless, to avoid constant comments like, "Haley is so dumb, why doesn't she use the wands she just bought on it?"

Great comic, yay for trying wands! Even though Haley is still a beginner with that. I was expecting her to go for Obscuring Mist and get away quietly, myself.

Also, hopefully there's no possible way for even the most devious mind to find exception with the way sexuality issues are handled in that one. That's a relief, forum-wise.

I'm betting that either Bozzuk or Belkar to enter the scene next, hopefully Belkar, I may have said it before but I REALLY want to see him drop a house on Crystal.

Edit: Or I guess Elan might wake up first, heal himself, and then go find help.

Yet another Edit: Ooh! Or the cleric of loki that helped out the first time might pop back up, hope that guy is doing well. He did say he was going to scidattle. I figure the gnome lands might have been a good place to go in order in order to keep a low key. (heh).

If she was using the Manyshot feat (which I believe she's been established to have) then it would be a single roll to determine if all three hit or missed.

I'd guess Multi-shot (1 attack roll, multiple arrows fired) mixed with a low roll.

Haley uses Manyshot: It's a single attack roll for all three. If she rolls low, all of them miss.

    Edits :
    - I should have known there was plenty of time for ninjas.
    - It is Manyshot, since she's shown firing all three at the same time.

Dammit Haley, you don't risk three rare and expensive arrows (that might be your only way to hurt something) on a single Multishot! Bad tactics, Bad!

Also, now for the real discussion: what's going to happen with those arrows?

Also, it's not a Multishot, it's a (non-Rapid Shot) full attack condensed into one panel. Note the three separate FFT! sound effects.

I was going to put that, but a natural 1 would be illustrated differently I like to think. That's a critical failure on Haley's part: she shot at a 90 degree angle straight up, or missed by a mile. You can see the little movement-indicating thing showing that Crystal moved out of the way of the arrows. It was Crystal's dodge that made her miss, not Haley's screwup.

Granted, maybe I'm reading too much into it; Crystal does look kinda unconcerned as she watches the arrows fly by, so it might've just been Haley rolling low. However, I think the gist of my post is still relevant: that Crystal has become a sufficient enough threat that Haley and Bandana have to run until an opportunity arises.

(I may or may not have been looking for a way to use the term "kiting", too, so there's that )
