System: D&D 3.5 in a fairly generic setting. The characters will be citizens of a large city-state and the game will begin at a tiny, wilderness outpost.
Player Count: Three to six. If more people are interested I suppose I could set up another party. Maybe. We'll see if there's sufficient interest first.
Style of Play: Plenty of roleplaying, some combat, probably a puzzle on occasion.
Allowed Content: I have most 3e and 3.5 sourcebooks, so most official content is allowable. If you aren't sure, feel free to ask. Homebrew is okay too if I approve it.

Character Creation:

• Backstory: You can be a member of the army stationed at the outpost (voluntary or conscripted) or just a traveler passing through. Backstory should be at least a couple paragraphs but it doesn't have to be too complicated. No novellas, please.
• Experience: Level 1 gestalt
• Wealth: 200 gp
• Ability Scores: 3.5 pointbuy with 36 points
• Hitpoints/Health: Max at first level, roll or average later
• Alignment: I don't take alignment very seriously. As long as your character is able to play along with the group, I don't care what label you put on them.
• Hide/Move Silently is replaced with Stealth; Spot/Listen with Perception.
  

Other Notes: Players will do most of the die-rolling. I'll roll initiative and skill checks like Search, Perception, and Sense Motive. I won't make a big deal of this, but you should use third person, present tense in your posts. No flaws allowed.

Hi there. Looking at this, I'm wondering if you might allow The Slayers Guide to Demons, along with the renegade Cleric and Wizard spellbooks?

Planning a Generic Warrior//Sorcerer for first level, though Quintessential Sorcerer for some extra abilities and sorcerer themed feats.

Im leaning towards an awful rogue/monk build. knocks optimization right out, but I think it would be fun. Unless I get some other suggestions.

Im thinking literal trap bait and scout. Though I may make it scout and monk.

Edit: Scratch that. Man, I want a monk but they are plain awful. Im going scout and something like Barb but I just don't know what yet.

Would it be acceptable to apply the benefits of Weapon Finesse to use with scimitars? If the game lasts long enough I'll be going into Dervish on one side of the gestalt, and it's an ability they get. However it's kind of just part of my character concept.

Interested, I think I will take the opportunity to roll up a Binder//Warlock since I can think of no two classes that mesh so well together both in terms of fluff and crunch as well as those two.

Yes, the cleric and wizard spellbooks are fine, as is the sorcerer source. What do you want with the demon one?

Use whichever deities you like and whichever domains you like as well.

A scimitar is just a rapier with slashing damage, right? Go nuts.

The Demonologist PrC really, just the sort of thing for a ritual based caster, as I summon eldritch horrors to feast on my foes souls.... so like that Pelor sponsored 'Good Aligned' summoning PrC, but more risky, and a lot more honest.

Very well. FYI, only one side of your gestalt build can be a prestige class at a time.

Was pointing out the fact that a good aligned prestige class featured demon summoning. Granted, mine won't, but it's Generic Warrior on one side for bonus feats and HD, and Sorcerer/Demonologist for dark magic and the summoning of dark and dangerous creatures.

But, will get to work on it
