Spells
A darkfoot casts arcane spells based on Charisma (no preparation) drawn from the Assassin spell list, learning spells at an assassin’s rate.
Weapon and Armor Proficiencies
The Darkfoot is proficient with all simple weapons and the sai (exotic dagger thing). The Darkfoot is also proficient with light and medium armor and all shields.
Power Surge
A Darkfoot, from 6th level and onward, may use up a 3rd or 4th level Darkfoot spell slot when in shadow to enter a power surge which works like a Barbarians rage except that the Darkfoot does not get fatigued and it lasts for 90 seconds for a 3rd level spell slot or 2 minutes for 4th level spell slot x half Darkfoot level (it does not do anything, yet uses up duration, while the Darkfoot is out of shadow).
Darkspeed
When in shadow a Darkfoots speed increases by 5 ft. at first level, 10 ft. at fourth, 15 ft. at seventh and 20 ft. at tenth.
Darkvision
At third level the Darkfoots darkvision increases by 60 ft. If the Darkfoot is blind their blindsight increases.
Quick-Minded
At fifth and ninth level the Darkfoot gains one feat they have the prerequisites for.
Disappear
From fourth level onward, the Darkfoot may once a day per point of charisma bonus, automatically succeed a hide or move silently check.Last edited by Lavidor; 2007-05-13 at 06:17 AM.

Re: Darkfoot (PRC)
One Question: Why make an assasin like PrC and not give it sneak attack or a similar bonus???

Re: Darkfoot (PRC)
Yeah, sneak attack bonuses could be used for filling in the dead levels at 2nd & 8th. It also needs fluff. The crunch ain't bad, but too many people forget that numbers aren't everything. The math only gives structure to the game.

Re: Darkfoot (PRC)
I agree; this Prestige Class is in desperate need of some fluff.
It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between.

Re: Darkfoot (PRC)
The way I read the requirements it sounds like someone born blind, or suffering from long-term blindness could take the class. Which is cool. But you never have it give them blindsight, just enhance it if they already have it.
Also the explaination of the duration on the rage-like ability could be better. You should say something like "The duration of this is 90 seconds if a 3rd level slot is used 2 minutes if a 4th level slot is used" rather than making the 4th level duration a paranthetical comment. This is actually better than a Barbarian's Rage in most ways since they can probably do it more times per day in the end and aren't ever tired from it... although the fact that the Barbarian gets Greater Rage as an upgrade is advantagous.
