Wu Jen question

I was reading over the Wu Jen class in comp arcane and was wondering if I needed to take a taboo at 6th level (as I gain no spell secret, but something instead of the spell secret).

Since taboo's text says you pick up an extra one when you get a new spell secret, and elemental mastery's text says you get it instead of a spell secret...I'd say no taboo at 6th level.
