    Ouch. I don't suppose there's a damage-reduction for small size people falling?

    Didn't think so.

Awesome comic as always. Vamp number 3 coming right up?

First, I would hope he gets that DR. Second, yeah - an airship, Fly spell, something. Falling didn't turn out so well for Roy.

Edit - That's the gnome who noted Durkon was a vampire! I bet she's get some kind of protection spell going on!

There's certainly nobody in range to help (Unless maybe V comes along with feather fall?), so either Belkar'll survive the fall (close to full hp on a mid-high level adventurer, and falling damage has a cap), grab/hit something on the way down or splat

Well, thats clearly not how Belkar dies. There are several people who can still save him. And even if not, he could reasonably survive maximum falling damage. He didnt take that much hurt in this fight.

Well, this tells us that the High Priest of Hel isn't interested in hiding his true nature for much longer. He must know that no matter what happens to Belkar, his cover will be blown very soon. If Belkar lives and tells the Order, his cover is blown. If Belkar doesn't live, the Order will certainly look for him and find his corpse, so the HPoH's cover will be blown anyway, albeit with some delay (they wouldn't just shrug off Belkar's death; they would certainly investigate).

I hope we'll get an extensive story of Belkar's adventures in the afterlife, where he meets his cranky dad and his hot mom and his baby brother and nevermind, I get it.

Based on the first words Belkar has in this comic, I believe Belkar might actually be dead for good now.

    Why?

    Here's my reason.

Note what the Oracle said. "Shouldacheckedamap". Belkar was just now complaining that he couldn't find a map to find his way back to Roy/someone else. Thus he was caught.

I feel somewhat upset about this as well because Belkar was finally becoming helpful. The group didn't believe him, but he was for once trying to do something good when he didn't trust "Durkon".

Also, the fact that no one currently really knows where he is, and that he's now sent falling a very long... fall, with what looks like a river at the bottom, it's more than likely they wont be able to find his body. Thus no raising. The Oracle did say "last breath - ever."

I'm sort of interested in what Belkar is saying that we can't hear. I'm guessing it's not fit to print in a family comic.

Also, it would be neat to see the different transitional forms of the dire wolf-to-dwarf transformation. It's hard to pick out what lines belong to which version.

Still, it's been a while since I was this worried about one of the characters, and it's surprising that Belkar is the one.

Also, I'm pretty sure the Narrative Laws don't allow Belkar to die in such an anti-climactic fashion, so my bet is that he'll survive the fall.

Although he might die soon, in a more suitable fashion. Maybe even just a few strips from now. Perhaps in that certain upcoming strip that marks such a significant yet arbitrary numerical milestone in our base-ten numbering system.

Well, that protection didn't do him much use in the end.

I on the other hand DO think that he dies here and now and nobody will search for him and just accept that he is gone. perhaps once there will be a panel where someone asks "where is belkar?" then switching to the bottom of that canyon with belkars eyes x-x and then back someone replying "nevermind".
