After a brief pause, Mathwin distinctly hears footsteps, most likely coming from the room he is next to. They seem to be shuffling, as if one was dragging their feet.

Mathwin immediately crouches to the ground and draws the Rowan wand of Magic Missile, his wand.
Mat attempts to determine the nature of the sound more clearly. It's in the room next to him, but he's heard no other movement. The door hasn't opened or closed during his time in this cave. "Shuffling? What could be shuffling?" he thinks to himself. "Undead? Zombies shuffle." He's being extra cautious and trying to learn more before his attack.

Mathwin is unable to determine anymore information by listening. Whatever is making the sound doesn't seem to be aware of his presence. Listening close to the door, Mathwin prepares his course of action.

Steeling himself, Mat readies his Magic. Sliding a scroll from one of several cases, he reads the magic scribed therein and a shimmering suit of amber plate armor forms around him. Mat pockets the, now blank, paper. Then, with his Rowan wand in one hand and eyes blazing bright, he kicks the door.
SpoilerMat uses one scroll of Mage Armor (CL 3; 3 hour duration; +4 armor bonus to AC) and attempts to kick in the door from which the sound comes. He's trying to get the drop on whatever's inside and get a surprise round spell.

As Mathwin kicks down the door, he is confronted with bones in the shape of a human! Sword in hand and rotten flesh on many parts of it's body, it snarls loudly in its surprise!

Mathwin glares at the undead and reflexively unleashes one of his wand's Magic Missiles at the foe, hoping to destroy the creature in a single blow.

Mathwin whips his wands and forcefully fires a missile from his wands, destroying any magic that was holding the undead creature together, as bones break and the creature falls to the ground. The skull of the creature lays motionless on the ground, but something makes Mathwin jump, as he is ready for action.
Mathwin hears from behind him loud snarls, and scratching and banging coming from further down the hallway.

Mat steps into the room and slams his back against the East wall, sending his glowing stone of Light over to the southwest corner of the room. He prepares to fire his signature spell at anything that comes through the door.

Mathwin waits patiently in the room, hoping to flank anything that walks past. After a few seconds, quiet fills the cavern.
Mathwin listens close to hear any source of movement, and his entire system jumps when he hears the splicing sound of wood being broken! The sounds of snarls seem to increase, as Mathwin hears the crash of wood, seemingly as if A door was being broken down.

Mat flicks his wrist, locking his rowan wand back into its sheath, and draws a white birch wand from his vest. Alright, if it's undead, Magic Missile. If it's something else, Sleepy time. Mat summons his light and, spinning though the door frame, levels his wand East.

Mathwin holds his arm firm, as the light illuminates the hallway. he braces for fear of what may around the corner, but the corner lays empty for the moment. As he formulates the next action, he hears a crashing sound, much like a door being kicked in, and footsteps approaching towards Mat.
After this loud noise, Mat feels the hair on his neck stand on end, as he hears snarls not only ahead, but behind as well.

Mat rushes back into the skeleton's previous abode, trying his best to prop the door back in place. Sending his light right above the door, he sets his back against the south wall and waits. He levels his wand of sleep and also prepares his Magic Missile spell. If anything tries to burst through the door, he'll blast with one or the other depending on the vitality of the foe.

Bracing for impact, Mathwin points his wands towards the door, ready to destroy anything that moves outside.
His nerves stand on end when a skeleton walks by, but Mathwin made up his mind. He channels his training into the wands, and fries his Magic Missile hard at the Skeleton.

Switching his wands out for a more powerful magic, he fires a grand shot of force, demolishing the skeleton into broken bones and dust.
Mathwin's fright is calmed for a brief second, until he hears a piercing scream comes from around the corner of the room.

As soon as the missiles hit the Skeleton, Mathwin hears the screeches coming from around the corner, and is shocked to see 3 more skeletons barreling into the room! Looking like it's been decaying for awhile, yet strong enough to wield curved swords, a skeleton runs into the room swinging at Mathwin!

Mathwin see's as the 2nd skeleton runs into the room and snarls, while Mat see's a third, who looks into the room, then continues West down the hallway.

Seeing the skeleton continue West, a thought occurs to Mat, "Bill . . . no!" Mat unleashes another barrage of missiles, trying to destroy the skeletons in front of him while chasing the third down the hall. He's heedless of the attack he may provoke from the skeleton before him, hoping that his magical force armor continues to shield him from its wrath.
SpoilerStandard Action: Casting Magic Missile again. Tanking the AoO and making the subsequent concentration check if I need to. 2 missiles against the skeleton closest to me and two against the one blocking the door. The one in front of me gets the extra +1 damage from my intense spells class ability.
Damage against the skeleton closest to me: (2d4+3)[10]
Damage against the one blocking the door:(2d4+2)[8]
If I succeed in destroying them, I'll take my move action to chase the third skeleton.

Attempting to fire his missile, he sees the Skeleton try and take advantage of Mathwin action. Ducking under the sword, Mat fires a missile directly through the Skeletons' spine, bursting the one in front of him to pieces!
The second blast knocks and arm of the 2nd skeleton, but the skeleton rears his attack towards Mathwin, swinging a 2 handed axe towards Mat's way.

Mat raises an arm reflexively to block the greataxe and deflects the blade with his force bracer. "Gods, thank you for the Mage Armor spell," he thinks to himself as he thrusts his free hand towards the skeleton before him. He summons a reserve of power from his training and unleashes one of his lesser Force Missiles at the foe.
SpoilerForce Missile against the Skeleton and then move action to chase his buddy down the hall.

The blast obliterates the construct into dust. Mathwin runs down the hall, hoping Bill is safe.
Mathwin runs towards the door, and as he's about to turn into the room, he hears a large amount of snarling coming from around the corner.

Mat steels himself against whatever is making that horrible snarling and rounds the corner, hoping to catch whatever it is off guard and possibly burn his last Magic Missile destroying any foes in the room. He still keeps his wand of sleep clutched tightly in case of a more organic foe.

Turning the corner, Mathwin is dumbfounded to see the Skeleton running still towards the entrance of the cave, and seemingly 3 men, looking very dead in the room as well!
2 of the men are covered with sand and slowly following the Skeleton, and one of them is buried waist deep in the sandy floor, trying to dig his way out and follow the rest of the men.

"Zombies . . . great. I hate Zombies. They're just so . . . messy." Mat says out loud as he unleashes his spell, blasting the room.
SpoilerMat fires off his last Magic Missile spell. 3 missiles are going at the skelebro (I don't want to chase him any more) and the last missile and extra +1 dmg is going towards the closest zombie.

Mat's precision missiles demolish the skeleton running towards the entrance, and it's skull rolls on the ground lifeless.
Seeing this, Mat fires his other missile towards the undead creature closest to him. Hitting square in the back, the creature turns towards Mat, and without a word, begins to lurch towards him.
