I need pov of these aliens
I need some ideas to flesh out the point of view of the aliens of my game. For more information on the game click here.
The aliens or Fuja alliance are currently in a galactic war about the size of a world war if it fought as a galactic war. A pair of ships was caught in a battle with their enemies the group they were part of was nearly annihilated with the exception of the two as far as they know. The two ships were forced to make a blind jump or face assured destruction. Where they end up is an unexplored region with vast quantity of rare resources, in fact the resources are so numerous the solar system could provide one third of raw resources needed.
However what shocked them the most was the 3rd planet (Earth people) looked remarkably like the mythical planet Eden which all humans (The aliens look exactly humans) come from. Even the rest of the solar system looks exactly as depicted on holy text. Each alien culture has Eden as the source of all human life and even those who were isolated until recently has had Eden depicted with pictures and artwork as how Earth looks from space. Along with these cultural similarities, the majority of the planets of humans there seem to be no evolutionary evidence of humans evolving on the planets.
As the Fuja craft approach the planet the low technological advancement of the Athlantians (The people of Eden). However what shocked them the most was that the Luxor Pyramid resembles an enemy nation’s architecture.
I was thinking of having the aliens decide to probe the area by sending fighters and the United States respond by sending fighters to intercept the alien fighters with a shoot only if shot at policy by the United States. However one of the aliens gets trigger-happy and fires and a battle begins in Los Vegas. The Fuja alliance currently having resource shortage that they’re desperately trying to over come, and this region is of space is near enemy lines.
Does this look good and/or anyone have any suggestions?Last edited by Suzaku; 2007-05-25 at 02:04 PM.

You don't probe with fighters, you probe with probes.
If a ship's big enough to have fighters on board, it's liable to have some sort of small, expendable, possibly stealthed sensor package.
Depending on how religious the aliens are, and how strongly eden figures in their relgion, they might be afraid of touching it. There'd probably be internal problems and arguments on board the ship as to whether they should report home immediately, scout the area, stop desecrating a "holy site" or try and make contact.
It's also relatively unlikely that they'd choose the US as their landing site. If they were looking for recognisable architecture from that era there's not many choices, and few - if any - are in the US.

Yes goat, but you forget that every plotline in every story about aliens must involve the US

Interesting there could be mutiny in the ships because of religious fanatics.

The ships may also have been damaged when they were fleeing “assured destruction” and mis-jumped to earth. Perhaps all of their drones were out scouting when they were forced to do the emergency jump or the drones were damaged in the fighting that led to the jump.
It's also relatively unlikely that they'd choose the US as their landing site. If they were looking for recognisable architecture from that era there's not many choices, and few - if any - are in the US.

As far as ideas go; are you dead set on having the Fujans be the bad guys? Maybe they are willing to make an alliance with the Athlantians in the face of the real bad guys (The Pyramid builders).
Earth would suddenly be thrust onto the interstellar stage and would have to adjust accordingly. Maybe the Fujans are losing pretty badly but it turns out the Earth humans are really good pilots or better tacticians than the alien human races.
The Fujans would be put in a position of needing the Earthers skills and resources but afraid of what these warlike humans will do once they get their hands on the technology the Fujans have to share with them to help beat back the villainous Pyramid builders.SpoilerThanks to Sneak for the slick Bugbear avatar!

This fairly strongly reminds me of Battlestar Galactica. Did you end up employing this plotline and, if so, how's it going?
It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between.
