Default Warcraft: Quest for the Prismatic Blades 5e OOC

    IC Thread

Well here we go! A quick reminder on a few stuff:

The players and their characters are as follows:

Everyone says what they'll do in whatever order they like and roll the appropriate Initiative dice for it. I'll share the table for Speed modifiers and it shouldn't be too difficult since you're already checking modifiers for any other roll you're making.
You also roll whatever dice is necessary for your action. Both attack and damage roll if attacking, saves if there's need for any, and if something you do would force another character to roll a dice (you cast a spell that requires save on an enemy let's say), you roll a D20 without modifiers for them by specifying it's the dice for them.
At any point after having declared your action, you can cancel it (because something someone did after you made it unnecessary or I don't know) unless you're already the last player to act (no reason to react since you're already the last one). If you don't, you go with that action. If you do, you can only take a move action instead.
After everyone declared their action (or 4 days passed, whichever comes first), I describe how everything turned out with everyone acting at the order of Initiative. Then we move on to the next turn and so on.

So in five steps it would be:
1- GM describes the status of the battle at the beginning of the turn.
2- Within four real life days every character declares their action, then rolls the initiative dice for that action, then rolls the necessary dice to resolve that action, all in the same post.
3- (Optional) Everyone except the last person to declare their action can cancel their action if they want, simply replacing it with a move action.
4- After everyone went through #2 or 4 days passed, the GM describes how every action turned out within their order of initiative.
    5- Go back to #1.
To make our jobs easier, I'll post the Speed Factor table(I hope it won't cause any copyright trouble):

Oh, and for writing style. I suggest using "Coloured text in quotation marks" for regular speech, Coloured italic for thoughts and simple italic for any actions or onomatopoeias. Bold could be used for yelling or emphasising. Reserve your colour here!

    Now go, and wreak havoc!

Zan'Mat shall be speaking in this color.

I am attempting to pattern his speech after Phasesmith Karax, from Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void.

By the way, how will the initiative system work for the following scenarios:
    1. If the Fighter takes an Action surge
    2. You are taking the Dash action
    3. You are readying an Attack (which triggers on a reaction)
    4. You have a bonus action (spell, or Healing Surge), pair it with another action (spell or attack)
    5. You have a multi-attack which allows you to do several melee or ranged weapon attacks with an action
    6. You are using your action to perform an item interaction (such as disable traps, or activate a Wand of Magic Missiles)
    7. You have taken the disengage action to withdraw from melee
    8. You are taking the dodge action to impose disadvantage on attacks against you that you can see
    9. You are throwing a dagger (which counts as ranged + finesse)

    9. You are throwing a dagger (which counts as ranged + finesse)
    1. If there are two actions, you add the modifiers for both of them, but you don't apply the same modifier twice. So if the fighter has two heavy weapons and uses his action surge to attack with both of them he'll only apply -2, but if he dual wields a heavy weapon and a finesse weapon he'd add the modifiers for the two different actions, reaching a simple 0.
    2. Well, Dashing isn't particularly fast or slow in and out of itself(depends on the speed of the character). I'd say no modifier.
    3. You declare your action and roll for initiative as normal, but your reaction is valid only for actions who are lower than you in the initiative order.
    4. Same as the Fighter's Action Surge, you add the different modifiers if they're different actions, you only add the modifier once if they're the same action. For spells, you only add the modifier for the highest spell level.
    5. Same as above.
    6. Consult this list to see if the item interaction you want to do is there. If not, just roll without a modifier and I'll add the appropriate modifier while announcing the results on a case-by-case basis.
    7. This is a particular situation where you're trying to retreat with all you've got, so I'd give it a +5 bonus.
    8. Not a particularly slow or fast action. I'll go with 0.
    9. There's no special modifier for simple ranged weapons, only loading ones. So it'd only take the finesse modifier, hence a +2.

Thog don't know why you think that.

Also since you're online, will Undyne speak in particular? Or Snarkhunter for that matter.

the second part of my message was to JNAProductions and Snarkhunter, respectively. I figured it'd be obvious from addressing their characters but then again I haven't slept in a while.

I leave my computer on most of the time, with this page open. I'm often on, but not 24/7.

And I'm sorry to say this so early, but I'm going to have to withdraw. I'd suggest contacting one of the others who didn't make it in via PM and offering them my spot.

Sorry again to leave, but I've just got too much else on my plate. Hope you all have a great game!

Well, sad to hear that. I'll go around asking others who posted interest. I may even ask for new players since so far you guys are lacking in the healing department.

Eye of Kilrogg only binds the vision of its caster to the Eye, so it doesn't transfer sound. If the caster is within hearing range they'll hear you, however.

There was no suggestion of an uninvited guest watching over.

    True, true.

Speaking of which, Lucan Alighieri who had also posted interest but then disappeared while finalising the characters said he wants to join back as well. I'll try to include him the moment the scene allows it. Though you guys still don't have any Cleric-type. Would you like me to see if anyone new wants to join?

    That would be lovely.

While I might have taken the Healer feat at 4th, we'd be both screwed 'til that and it wouldn't provide THAT much of a healing power either. :S

If I'm reading the rules correctly, Readying is an action already take on your turn, so you wouldn't have time to cast Sacred Flame until next turn.

Also I just noticed Sleep is a no-save spell. Oh my.

The attack, being a triggered attack, does not take place on Zan'Mat's turn but after it.

But... It's kind of iffy actually since he moves after the Imp. So confusing.
