Augment Healing and metamagics

Augment Healing feat has all conjuration (healing) spells heal 2 additional points of damage per spell level. Am I correct in assuming that casting healing spells augmented with metamagic feats does not increase the amount of bonus points healed unless using Heighten Spell? (Which specifically increases spell level for all intents and purposes.)
