Default Sharn's stock market (Sign up)

Welcome to the city of Sharn, where opportunities are plenty and customers rich, well some of them. You, as a young one wishing to make money have decided on Sharn as your location. Some of you might start your own business, others will only buy stocks. What matters is your chance to become a major player in the Sharn economy, as well as the chance to become horribly broke and spend the rest of your life paying of your debt.

I will be allowing people to sign up for the game until June has ended (Assuming GMT/UST)

Rules
Players start with 10,000 gp.

Turns consist of 4 rounds:

Round 1: Making plans for this turn, and asking the shareholders for permission.
Round 1.5: Selling initial shares (if wanted, first turn only)
Round 2: Executing those plans.
Round 3: Determination of what happens.
Round 4: Buying and selling shares.

Each turn represents a year's work.

Types of business
There are several types of business, as can be seen in the following table:
{table="head"]Type|description
Food|Businesses producing or selling food
Equipment|Businesses producing or selling equipment
Entertainment|Businesses providing entertainment
Healing|Businesses providing healing
Oracle|Businesses providing prophecies
Transport|Businesses providing transport
More|If you have anything not covered, just ask
Risk ratings
Every business has a risk rating accompanying it chosen by the owner, this is shown as a percentage, this percentage is the most it can differ from the...

Worth rating
Every business has a worth rating, this depends on several things:
{table]Factor|Worth modification
Capital|5% of Capital added to base worth
Resource|Completely added to base worth
Competition|The competition factor modifies base worth by it's percentage.
Capital is an one time investment which doesn't change unless parts are bought or sold.
Resource is an investment which has to be paid every round 3, this has to bed at least 10% of capital
Competition is a percentage based on the competition you have, it's base value is 100%, this number is secret.

Example of profit
Joe has decided on a casino, he determines this to be entertainment with a risk rating of 80%. He spends 500 gp on a nice building with decorations, as he doesn't want to risk to much of his money he spends 50 gp on advertisement and the money deposit. I have determined his competition is at it's base of 100%. This sets his worth rating at 75 gp (25 gp for has capital investment of 500 gp and 50 gp for his resource spendings.) I now roll an even sided dice to determine loss or profit compared to his worth rating. I roll a 1, which is loss. I now roll a d& to determine the loss, it turns up at 50, this means 50% of the risk is realized, meaning that I subtract 40% (50% of 80) of the worth rating to determine the final money earned this turn, 40% of 75 is 30 which I subtract from 75 to get 45. With his resource of 50 this nets him a loss of 5 gp, I'm sorry Joe.

Shares
As soon as a company decides to sell some or all of it's shares it determines the amount of shares issued, it also determines the amount of money each share will cost as base price and how many shares it wants to sell, only this time this information will be told publicly.

Buying/Selling
At the 4th turn the shares wanted will secretly be send to me, as well as the shares offered. I will then compare this data and determine the new price of the shares, the shares will be paid at the new price and will be proportionally distributed (amongst the buyers if there's a shortage, amongst the sellers if there's a surplus).

Options
Players can sell options (right to buy shares in the future) if they wish so, as soon as this information is agreed about both players will send a PM to me detailing the agreement (including (initial) payment and other such details), these options need to have determined the turn in which they are bought/sold and will be handled at the end of round 3.

Interest
Not only can your shares become worth more over time, companies also pay part of the profits to their shareholder, this amount needs to be 5% of previous year;s profit at the least and is determined by the shareholders in round 1.

Buying/selling resources of other players
Players can direct some of their resources at other players, this removes some of the risk of the other company while being a cheaper source of resource for the other (counts as 105% of actual spendings), however this needs to make some sense and can only be done for at most 10% of total resource.

This sounds to complicated for a game that is absed on you rolling a die to see if the player makes a profit...

I don't think it's that complicated, and it is possible to make a profit even if you get a loss result, you just need to have a worth rating higher than your resource.
