Alamryn Kven, a druid who tries very hard not to be useless.

But that wouldn't do them any good would it? I don't think any of them hate party members, and if an NPC is the nemesis of another NPC... how would either of them gain levels? Unless one is the nemesis of the nemesis of a party member.
(Horgus and Anevia act like they're each other's nemesis, now that I think of it.)

Not that you can perceive. As far as you can currently see or hear, the only two potential enemies in the room are the ones on the map, though there are still parts of the room you can't see.

Alamryn fired at one of them, but missed.

Based on Horgus's position, is it clear to Kel if he meant the ones we are engaging or perhaps others that would be flanking our group down the original hallway?

As a part of his move action, Kel will move to Y7 to look back at the group to make sure, then complete his turn once he knows.

Horgus is looking forward, toward the east. Based on your knowledge of Horgus from traveling with him this far, you're pretty sure he's complaining, not trying to give a warning.

You see no sign of anyone approaching from behind your group.

Since the roll was 16 and your AC is listed as 16, it would be a hit for 8 damage, per the SRD.
