    The rules are as follows:

Prior to eating chocolate, one must have chocolate.

After eating chocolate, one may or may not still have chocolate but must have less chocolate than before, unless an external source is providing additional chocolate.

If one has chocolate and does not eat it, it is permitted (and likely) that someone else may eat it.

As long as you stick to the Three Laws of Chocolate, you'll be fine.

Also, now I'm sad my brother threw out the croissants because I could really go for a chocolate croissant.

Proper etiquette dictates that chocolate must be eaten with a knife and fork. If you are playing the chocolate game.

The etiquette is dependant on what your location and company is. When alone at home there is no etiquette and only the Three Laws of Chocolate apply (see Qwertystop's post, also quoted below). But alas, there are also moments when you are forcced to consume your cocoalicious meals amongst others. The following rules apply to various different social situations:
    • remember to never eat your chocolate when it is melted or nearly melted
    • always remember to offer a piece of your chocolate to a friend if they have none
    • if a friend has their own chocolate, suggest to swap one piece to experience something new
    • do not cry and eat chocolate alone in the public unless it is an emergency
    • avoid making direct eye contact with another when biting your chocolate (attempt of seduction or intimidation are an exception)
    • receive your chocolate with joy when given for free
    • ... but tell that you are utterly full and will eat it later if the flavour isn't to your liking

Which hand you use is optional - whatever makes your chocolate experience more comfortable.

These are just some of the examples that are included in the full edition of "Etiquette for Consumption of Chocolate" published by none else than our beloved Gentlefolk's Chocolate Club, coming out next month! Etiquette for chocolate beverages and condiments are still in the making. There will be an add-on leaflet about the complexity of chocolate fondue as well.

These are indeed the Three Laws of Chocolate, but we were not discussing about the core basics. TaiLiu was specifically asking for the correct etiquette - the more refined manners for consumption of chocolate, that is.

Nope. I googled it and the game seems like something only chocolate-sadists and chocolate-masochists would prefer playing.

Bleh. So today I ran my Roll20 game with Tailiu and some friends. One game, three hours, ONE COMBAT. For the entire three hours. 8 players, 16 enemies.

We would have had two deaths (one caused by an angry feral, the other by someone punching the PC Orc in the balls and rolling a crit) but I have something called the Critical Rule (if you're higher than 20% maximum HP, you drop to 1 instead of 0/die).

I'm a bit disappointed. I was only expecting the battle to be an hour (and more dangerous wound-wise but neither team could hit the planet if they came in from the edge of the solar system!) and it took the entire three. I might switch to simultaneous actions, meaning everyone in a turn gets their action even if they're dead at the end of the round (so two people could concievably kill each other in the same action), or something. I don't know yet. Big parties are HELL to deal with.

Those dice rolls and damage rolls on Roll20 are *clunky*, as we have to switch back and forth between tabs.

For the record, hitting the planet (Earth, presumably) from the edge of the solar system is extremely hard. Especially if you aren't allowed to put engines on whatever you're throwing at it. Hitting some of the gas giants might be easier, though, seeing how they pretty much act as meteor shields for the inner planets.

    ION:
Today's (or rather, tonight's) dose of dramatics was served by the burning sand box (for keeping sand during the winter) which I encountered on my quite late and quite meandering way home from a dinner with my family. I've never had to call the emergency number before, so it was a bit nervous, even though I know how their routine works. And when the policeman who was the first to arrive and who barely could hear me through his thick helmet and over the sound of his motorcycle asked for my social security number, I accidentally started reiterating my phone number before I caught myself.

But it's all fine. As soon as I get my adrenalin out of the system, I should be able to go to bed. I do wonder though, as based on the state of the fire, it should only have been going on for a few minutes tops when I arrived to the location, and given the rather erratic pattern of my journey home, I could very well have stumbled over the perpetrators in the act. I wonder what would have happened then...

The point of the chocolate game is:

    a)to laugh a lot
b)to eat maybe a little bit of chocolate at the end
c)you really do laugh a lot

Uuugh, I woke up from such a psychological, !"#%&/()= nightmare. The worst part was that all throughout the dream, I handled it very calmly, almost trivially, and almost woke up with an "oh", but then when I started thinking back on it, I realised how utterly horrible it was. And now my trauma center isn't doing me any favour at all by making me go through the details and pretty much recognise how perfect they all were in design, which just terrifies me even more.

I suppose it's good, but now I'm curious. I probably missed a fair amount while I was gone.

I got Finn Family Moomintroll and the winter one. They have enough that I'll get a few at a time and savor it. I haven't read any in years. I don't think I've seen the comics.

Cuthalion: Roll20, or PbP, or? Color me interested, there's a lot of characters in my brain I want to play.

I ran my other Roll20 group today. 3 of 8 showed. One who didn't had a job interview (two hours away, one way. The hell? On a SUNDAY?). One dropped me like a hot potato with absolutely no reason why and he's not speaking to ANYONE, including the two friends of his that got INTO the game because of him. I get the sense he's very angry for some reason. The others just never showed. I ran it anyway and the players nearly died due to bad tactics. They pulled out just BARELY and we'll pick it up next week.

Considering I'd be the DM, I think that argument is better applied in the reverse. It's not very different; you'd pick it up easily.

    It'd be PbP.

Ah, my life! Filled with memories of you and me, talking on the forums, as if there no worries in the world! How could you leave me, Chickalion?!
Because it would be worse if I, like, didn't?!

Although I admit that talking via a forum, while cool, had things it's better for than others. Summarizing and telling about fun stuff is not one of the strong points.

I think you might have misheard me. I didn't say "I don't know the rules;" I said "I don't have books." I don't want to be restricted to what's available here, whereas the stuff here is extensive enough.

Sorry if I came across rude; I didn't mean to.

I don't have any books for either, so. :smallshrug: I would rather not learn a new (if similar) system I haven't played before if I can avoid it. Sorry.

Nor do I. Are you saying this will be Core Only or something?

Probably some variant of the honor system if people do have book resources they want to use.

Cuthalion -- I'd look into Roll20 to run your game -- it's pretty easy once you get used to it.

Wow it's so weird recognizing people on this forum when I haven't posted in like 4 years. The new layout is so disorienting. I feel like I just came out of cryostasis.
