I kid, I kid. But note that when I mean it lacks action it's...like, it does have action, but a lot of it is also sitting in hotel rooms having quasi creepy conversations between the handler who is sort of encouraged by the nature of the system to get involved with their charge, and their charge who is always a lolita cyborg with basically zero emotion. It's kinda weird.

It's well executed, though. The show doesn't try to impress on you how awful things are by having someone monologue about it.

My optician said that it'd likely be faster for me to get my thumbs up for glasses if I didn't go to a private clinic. I was like, wtf. Ok. Sure. So I googled all of the private clinics in my city last night to see what's available, and lo and behold... the earliest appointments available for eye docs were in late August. So I just ended up calling the local services and I'm seeing a regular doctor on the 27th and then see what happens. They might refer me to the proper eye clinic or they might not...

Whatever it is, I'm really, really tired that I can't get my glasses until I've got the doctor's approval.

I mean I get that this is a joke but I just remember a lot of "I would be crying if I had emotions because I'm a formerly almost dead orphan that got turned into a cyborg assassin" moments instead of shootyshooting. Try Grenadier the Beautiful Warrior just...keep in mind it's cheesecake-y.

Sorry I can't help but take anime seriously to some degree and thus give suggestions.

Eh, I have Oglaf-high standards. I don't really like 'typical' fanservice. When 'looking good if you know what I mean' isn't the main point of attention, I would rather enjoy gunfights without the fanservice butting in (pun pun).

Checking RWBY videos, it seems that there're entire episodes (chapters?) where no fighting happens, or where bits of fighting are in between a lot of dialogue. Not really an action series, I think.

If that's your metric, you are probably not going to like Gunslinger Girl as an action series. Fair warning.

RWBY is pretty bad I'd avoid it I only bring it up with Rawhide since he inspired me to watch it and now I'm just kinda stuck in it until it dies. Ah, the things I do for my internet friends and viewers.

In that case, though it's a manga and not an anime (because life is simply unfair) read Et Cetera. It's a really good modernish western. Lotsa a gunslinging. One of the protagonists is a gender swapped Benkai, with guns instead of swords.

To be fair, the waifus on RWBY aren't very attractive, all things considered.

Speaking of anime, does anyone else notice how DB Super seems to be rehashing Z's plotlines? I mean, the first major antagonist (Vegeta/Beerus) ends up working with the heroes later on, the second (Frieza/Golden-Frieza) is Frieza, the third (Perfect-Cell/Hit) is fought at the end of a tournament, and the fourth (Buu/Black) is, AFAIK, just "suddenly, existential threat to basically all of reality!"

RWBY is a great series, I'd highly recommend watching it. There are a lot of action sequences, sometimes taking up most of an episode, but there is also plenty of downtime, sometimes taking up most (or all) of an episode.

In general, chapter = episode, except for Volume 1 (also, volume = season). In Volume 1, there were 10 chapters (still viewable in their original 10 chapter form on the DVD and BluRay), which were split into shorter episodes for web consumption. This didn't work all that well, with some episodes being ~2 minutes long...

If you're to watch the series, I recommend this order:
Volume 1, Episode 1
Trailers in order: (Red, White, Black, Yellow)
Rest of the series

Those trailers (except possibly Red) are considered canon. However, please take note that at the beginning of the series, many of the flaws which were later ironed out are very apparent (the walk cycle in Episode 1, for example).

RWBY might be okay, but the animation quality is damn atrocious, and I can't get past it. Monty's decision to animate in Poser was 3dgy at best.

It's okay they changed to Maya now.

Except the animation is arguably worse and the choreography is still as bad as it once was. So...yeah.

My favorite/least favorite part was that all the diehard fans that went to RTX and saw the reveal trailer...barely made a sound till it was almost over. You know you've failed to deliver on hype in any meaningful fashion when the people who've paid to be in your prescence are DEAD silent.

I suppose it depends on how you read it, but for me it felt like they were just bored. They should be screaming.

Naw that's the right video. The only time the crowd reacts at all is when they show the main characters at the end of it. There are moments in the trailer where they should be freaking out and it gets NOTHING. No response. That feels bad to me.

Also their reaction to seeing the character who's arm was traumatically sliced off was to laugh. Maybe they're just *******s, it'd fit RT's aesthetic.
