Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Norman claimed to have revived me. I'm beginning to believe that was a very evil thing to do now. But not for game reasons.
I never heard from Meta that he was the one who revived me. Is that what you are asking, because that's what it sounds like you are asking. My head hurts so much now.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
I don't mind having an uphill battle the following day. If I survive and can share another scry, I'm helping the team. If I end up getting night killed instead of lynched, it's also better for town. If I wasn't invested in making the team as a whole do well, I would have just rolled over and accepted lynch today.

Does this ever work? Didn't you say the same about yourself on like, day one of this very game?
- - - Updated - - -
Devil gets a lot of detail, seer/fool gets very little. And we already have 2 other confirmed Town seers and 1 other confirmed Neutral seer.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
That level of detail seems to be anomalous. Here are my other scries minus one name:
"You creep up on McGinty, but you see a rustle in the bushes and are scared away. [Interference]"
"You listen closely and hear a quiet conversation between _______ and someone else."
"You hear some panting, and then the sound of loud sniffing. Maybe a dog?"

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Looks pretty unambiguously like a role-scry, rather than a side-scry (specifically not mentioning whether the person is duck, hunter, or, in the dog's case, duck or hunter-aligned). Also looks very auditorially oriented, which is odd for a dog.
If Murska is to be believed about his scry, apparently it picks up "animal" or "not animal," which would catch ducks but not distinguish them from hunter-aligned animals, nor would it distinguish "human who serves the ducks" from a bog-standard hunter.
The classic side-scry may not exist in this game.Orth Plays: Currently Baldur's Gate II

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
As a sidenote, resurrections often have a percentage chance of turning evil.
Anyway, I find it rather convenient that none of your supposedly accurate scries contain any useful information for Town.
- - - Updated - - -
Makes sense for the Devil to have a role scry rather than an alignment scry, to me. They already know everyone's alignment.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
I find it highly unlikely that a town-loyal norman250 would be letting us rely on Lex-Kat still being a Mason and not mentioning "oh yeah, 25% chance she's now on the ducks' side." So that leaves us just where we always were: however much we can trust one of them, we can trust both.

Basically true, yeah. The only outlier I see is unannounced side-effects.

Ignoring other people's PMs is terribly rude. It's like you people have no consideration for others. It's a game, least you can do is try to have a bit of fun with it.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
I chose you because I figured a cleared mason would be a good choice if FC wasn't on the level, I wasn't trying to make your life stressful, sorry. What I was asking was, now that Meta has publicly revealed the content of his scry regarding me, did he ever reveal that to you privately before I publicly role claimed?
- - - Updated - - -
I will state, for whatever it's worth, that my role pm had no such stipulation, but it would be unwise to assume that it's impossible that Duck999 did not secretly include one.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
The differences to look for are not between Meta and Murska. What I finds worrisome are the differences between McGinty and Meta.
Mrs. McGinty got:
Night 1: Black Socks smells of Plastic.
Night 2: ________ smells of Metal.
Night 3: Scared Away (voided).
Why would her scries come as "Black Socks smells of Plastic", and Meta's be "You hear some panting, and then the sound of loud sniffing. Maybe a dog?" (His scry of Mrs. McGinty last night.)
She is the professional, but has very little detail, unless she wasn't giving me all the details. But his describes something. Even without it saying "Maybe a dog?", one could easily surmise that what he's hearing is a dog. Or possibly another werewolf. But if all you get is "smells of plastic"... what does that even mean? Upon his death, we learn he was a decoy. So plastic makes sense. But who would have guessed that? Decoys, by the way, were made of wood in the olden days. Some still are.
{{Loving the roles Duck999. And you are doing a great job with this game. Keep up the good work.}}

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
It could very well be easier for dogs to tell whether another person is a dog or not. Did the Professional Hunting Dog scry on anyone who wants to claim dog?
I think it would make sense that dogs would find it easier to find each other than other roles.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure ducks don't smell like plastic or metal.Spoiler: Check Out my Writing!

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
My thoughts on this:
The novice dog is based on hearing (i.e. fool). Thinks they know what they are doing but uses eyesight rather than smell to figure out.
Whereas the professional dog knows to trust his nose rather than his eyes, so i.e. they get the smells of X deal.
Or Meta is a duck and based off of visual clues.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Wait.
That won't be right. If we have a 'novice hunting dog' scrying 'expert hunting dog', there'd possibly be mention of a familiar scent, and more importantly, it'd be 'maybe another dog' not 'maybe a dog'. It's pretty clear that whoever received this particular message is not a dog themselves.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Day 5 Over
The hunters have survived one more night, but things are going downhill fast. A small group of hunters meets up.
We've killed only one duck. Who knows how many more there could be?
And they are slowly whittling down our numbers.
If we stuck together, this would be so much easier.
You're right.
A squawk and a gunshot scatters the hunters. Two hunters, however, remain and face the oncoming threat, firing into the bushes. When they go to see what they killed...
That ain't no duck!

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Night 5 Over
It's a beautiful night in the neighboring woods, a beautiful night for a neighbor. It's all too bad there aren't any neighbors who aren't blood-thirsty ducks. The ducks once more split up, searching for a good shot on a hunter. They find one, alone. He seems well-armed, but that's nothing compared to the element of surprise. The ducks burst from the woods, guns blazing. The hunter drops dead, and the ducks immediately pull away to hide again.
Wait! He's not dead!
The ducks turn to find one of their brethren leaning over what they thought was a dead body. Turns out a bullet-proof vest protected him.
Well kill him, then.
The duck slits his throat and they all leave.
Spoiler: ResultsDisc Lorde was killed. He was the hunter Police Officer, the baner.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Meta. If it needs to be explained, look at Murska's last post.
The three of you poking Elenna, while an unknown, is more than a little suspicious when Meta is likely a duck.
@Elenna: That having been said, what ability (if any) did you use on Disc Lorde?

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Would someone be so kind as to tally up the votes of murska/Meta along with the names of who voted for who?
That being said, Murska made an assumption. And I fully agree Meta is suspicious as is Elenna.
That easily could have been a void him/night kill him action. I don't think the night kill action would register but the void would.

Meta seems more suspicious to me.

Gaze upon my extended signature and bow! Or just, y'know, give it a high five. That's OK too.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Requested yesterday count:
Target: Voters: Current Count: Elenna Pelican, Xihirli, Deathslayer7 3 Meta Murska, Black Socks, Lex-Kat, ImperatorV, Supagoof 5 Murska Kish, Elenna, Aventine, Disc Lorde, norman250, Meta, Fleeing Coward, Libro 8 No One Fortuna, BasketOfPuppies, Vesth, Elodin 4
I believe this is accurate, though I could have missed something.
It is odd enough to be suspicious that a claimed Novice Hunting Dog hears rather than smells. I could be persuaded to vote for Meta based on that, now that there's no longer an obvious alternative who's sabotaged town already. I'm more curious about why Elenna targeted the night kill victim.Last edited by Kish; 2016-07-24 at 01:53 PM.
