Well that's quite a bit that's happened. I assume we're heading right back to the attic now. LETS DO THIS.

    The laughter.

The shadows of terror and twisted souls within the walls.

Norra keeps the smile of her goddess upon her face, but it's subdued now, as even the happy go lucky halfling is being effected by the pressure of this house.

"Lets go. The sooner we uncover whatever is going on here, the sooner we can get back to the children."

Climbing the red, marble staircase to its full height the party reaches the third floor, shivering beneath the oppressive chill of the draft emanating from above them.

Curiously, this floor is dusty and unkempt in stark contrast to the rest of the house the party has seen so far. The hidden patterns of the staircase and the ambiance began more obviously sinister as the party ascends higher into the darkness. The floorboards of the stairs began to groan underfoot as the party ascends; the air becomes dusty and drafty; the wallpaper, the furnishings, everything that pops into their little spheres of light looks faded, old, and ancient. The third floor seems much smaller, cramped, and congested than the others as if the ceiling itself was lowering on them.

The party's final step ends on a dusty balcony where a suit of black armor - draped in cobwebs - stands against the western wall (the one in the direction of the entrance).

Oil lamps are mounted on the oak-paneled walls, which are carved with woodland scenes of trees, falling leaves, and tiny critters.

Brikas Arixis seems to be completely ignorant of it in the dim light, but everyone else has noticed the pattern by now: there are tiny corpses hanging from the trees - some crucified others in a noose - and worms (or perhaps snakes) bursting up from the ground.

A wide hall runs the width of the house, with a black marble fireplace at one end and a sweeping, red marble staircase at the other. Mounted on the wall above the fireplace is a longsword with a windmill cameo worked into the hilt. The wood-paneled walls are ornately sculpted with images of vines, flowers, nymphs, and satyrs. The decorative paneling follows the staircase as is it circles upward to the second floor. The house's interior is cloaked in darkness, but you can see most of the main hall due to the light produced by Nora's coin and Ewan's Torch.

There are six doors in the main hall.

    • Entrance doorway: This is the door you entered the room from. It is closed.
    • Doorway to Hunting Den: This door is adjacent to the Entrance Doorway and leads to a Hunting showroom. Nora has looted the cabinet inside and found three crossbows of varying size!
    • Left Dining Hall Door: This door leads to the Dining Hall. It is directly across from the Entrance Doorway. It is open.
    • Closet Door: There is a door directly to the right of the previous one. It opens to a small cloakroom. There are several black cloaks and a top hat inside. It is open.
    • Right Dining Hall Door: To the right of the closet, there is a five foot bend in the wall towards the back of the house. The bend leads to one door that is facing the entrance that leads to the Dining Hall. It is open.
    • Kitchen Door: The kitchen door is adjacent to the right dining hall door. The food in the pantry appears to well-stocked and fresh. There is a dumbwaiter that Brikas and Nora may be able to ride in.

Cradled in the father's arms is a swaddled baby, which the mother regards with a hint of scorn.

Standing suits of armor flank wooden doors in the east and west halls. Each suit of armor clutches a spear and has a visored helm shaped like a wolf's head. The doors are engraved with dancing youths.

The red marble staircase that started on the first floor continues its upward spiral to the floor above you. A cold draft can be felt coming down the steps.

There are three doors on this floor.

    • Western Door above the Den of Wolves.
    • Library Door. On the same wall as the servant's door but farther from the stairs is a door leading to an impressive sized library. Lander has found that there is a suspicious red book on the one shelf that appears to have a secret to it.
    • Hidden behind a bookcase in the library is a secret room opened by the suspicious red book. The party has looted it.
    • Door to Servant's Quarters. Located right in front of the staircase on the second floor, this door leads to an undecorated servant's rooms. Some uniforms hang in the closet.

Says, An evil hand has crafted it's mark all over this house! We must find a way out! Or we must find and slay the witch, or demon that weaved the magic that traps us here!
I am now minded that as a child we, um that is I've heard tell how some children would plead to rich looking passersby for help, in finding their way home, and lead them to an alley where the gang would rob them.

    Looks for way out.

Sorry, I made the roll and determined that you didn't notice anything that seems like an obvious way out, but for some reason didn't tell you anything? My bad.

Taking the Heavy Crossbow and ammo from his colleague, Lander moves over to the dusty, cobweb covered black armor intending to wear it. When he steps close to it however, the black armor runs at Lander and punches him twice! This suit of armor wasn't just a suit of armor at all!

-> Almost all of the room on the balcony is occupied by the party or the armor. You can move either into one of the rooms or down the stairs for free, but trying to enter one of the two rooms next to the armor will provoke an attack...
