I think there's a typo, because it says 0-2 battleline in the article, but 0-1 battleline on the chart. Either way, Skryre might be kinda scary. Stormfiends count as battleline for them.

They already fixed a typo about the double sized units earlier in the day, so likely a typo in the article.

Stormfiends aren't that good anymore now that you can't mix weapons, though they have their uses. They make a solid shock trooper unit, so perhaps you'll see them in Main Forces, coming in, shooting, and then rocking onto objectives. I'm curious to see how different the meta will be, if at all.

    Narrative things.

Arcane Objectives. Objectives with special effects. Can't say I'm a fan of those, but could be fun.

Regiments of Renown on the other hand is something I'm a fan of. Adding some special rules to veterans in a narrative campaign is fun.

Arcane Objectives gave me PTSD for Mysterious Objectives in pre-8th 40k. I doubt people will use them in Matched, but I thought the same thing about Realmscapes and yet here we are.

    Open play

Battleplan generators are nice, I'm a fan of those. Used the open play cards a bunch, so more of those are great.

Battlefield size seems to imply putting two tiles together, so that isn't too bad either.

Open War Generator seems.... interesting. Need more info about those, but it does seem like an useful system for non-point games.

I've never used the cards but people who do seem to really enjoy it. More options is always good.

How does this look as a minimum-cost (basically 2 start collecting boxes + a few) 1000 point Fyreslayer army? Artifacts, Lodge, etc. are all undecided.

Personally it seems a bit too heavy on heroes and a bit low on actual units. Personally I would drop a hero and the endless prayer so you could include some more bodies and/or upgrade the runeson to a runefather.

Also, what is your gameplan? Get the berzerks on an objective and then buff their save so they're hard to remove?

New plan (since battlesmiths and runemasters are out of stock everywhere...):

    Runefather on Magmadroth (280)
    Auric Runesmiter

    Vulkite Berzerkers x10 (pick/shield)
    Vulkite Berzerkers x10 (pick/shield?)
    Auric Hearthguard x10

    Total: 960

And I'm totally new to AoS, so I'm not sure how they'll be best employed. But I picked up 2x Start Collecting: Fyreslayers and a couple other random things (based on looks before I decided to actually try playing), so...

    Current stock on hand:
2x Start Collecting: Fyreslayers (one built with Runefather on Magmadroth & picks/shields)
    Magmic Invocations
    Battleforge
5x Auric Hearthguard (so I'd need to pick up one more box of these)

15x Chaos Warriors (mixed weapons due to not thinking about play...)
    1x Daemon Prince (with wings)

1x Start Collecting: Daemons of Khorne
    10x Bloodletters

3x Tzaangor Enlightened on disks (halberds)

    reading leaks I have thoughts.

well my current LoN list that I'm really tired of playing is donzo; expected but I guess for now 20 reapers become 10 hexwraiths or something.

overall it feels like shifting deckchairs. whats the best didn't become more expensive enough to not be the best choices, and for the exception of Purple Sun, nothing became cheap enough to become good.

Overall the GHB changes felt very restrained. 10-40 point changes at the most, which in some cases is enough but for the most part I don't think it'll be a huge impact.

Though there are some outliers - sweeping drops for KO should help (or at least make boats more reasonable), and Wanderers got some love.

Curious to see the FEC/Skaven/Gitz/Khorne/etc errata, that will be the big impact on the meta.

I perfer the smaller corrections and in several instances there are closer gaps now. If a unit went up by 20 pts and another went 20 down, then there is a 40pts less difference between those, which might be important.

And honestly, the big thing will what the changes to the new books will be.

I hate this slow burn by GW. my current list got shuffled off the titanic (not that I really wanted to keep playing it either), the changes that matter a 2 weeks out minimum in errata, and NOVA keeps inching closer.

I'm going to end up buying 60 skeletons because I can't decide what I'd rather play in 2 months aren't I?

would you want to spend ~$123.75‬ on an army you are actively looking to drop?

Yeah, that isn't going to fit into 2000pts anymore.

Well, if you are going to drop it then you shouldn't get those skeletons. I said yes because I'm a fan of skellies and have a lot of them. (thanks playing Tomb Kings in WHFB)

I'm a fan of them too. I just dislike having an army with such an easily exploited single point of failure that death has. But the reality is if I don't get them I won't have an army for the NOVA GT, so I'll be getting them. The real question is if Merc rules will be allowed, cause I have plans if they are.

Sylvaneth have finally dignified themselves to show up. Personally I am pretty interested in those wyldwoods, as I think they can make for some good wood terrain.
